Read the headline and inferred that you had become an Illinois liberal, since you support attacking the police.

So I would just assume, if you are a liberal that automatically qualifies you as having a legal defense on attacking cops as being a liberal is a mental illness. Makes sense to me.

A legislator (1) introduced a bill because she thinks mental health victims in crisis are being overcharged with a felony while being attended to by police and first responders. There is a discussion to have here but it isnt the discussion the OP laid out like a rabid dog that lacks thinking abilities.

Cool, you're entitled to your assumptions. And I see what you did there - verrrry witty!

Too bad all these people with the "legal defense" don't employ said defense if/when they attack cops. In fact, they generally want anyone who attacks cops to face justice.

That said, let's look at the hostages traitors that you support!!

They're just attacking our government and assaulting cops with no defense whatsoever!! And yet somehow the Traitor-in-Chief pardoned them. Weird!

It's so unusual to see liberals side with criminals against cops.

If the cops are going to be the first call for people with mental health issues, seems like they should have some protection from cops too. We could always invest in mental health services like conservatives are always saying we should do when they side with criminals on gun rights!

As opposed to conservatives who sided with these criminals when they attacked the cops. In fact the Dear Leader of the conservatives decided the assailants deserved a free pass and issued them pardons.

    Agree.

Sadly, siding with criminals is the norm for Trumppublicans. Of course, Trump is a criminal, who supports and enables criminals. So this makes sense.

Trump pardons roughly 1,500 criminal defendants charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack

The cops opened fire on the J6 protestors, who were convicted without due process. Some of those cops should be in jail

Can you imagine what Chi-town will be like if ..... the dems get this law passed???? It will look like some dystopian movie where criminals run the city.

This is what happens when you only read headlines, though I suppose conservatives think everyone in Chicago has a documented mental illness and is 'resisting' cops during a mental health episode

    It’s what democrats want.
    They hate authority.
    And they love chaos.

    Yes.

I even remember when a traitor pardoned them.

No one even remembers the Brooks Brothers Riot, but I guess this one was more of a spectacle

Funny how secularists boast you don’t need God or religion for an ethical framework. You just cook it up.

And then it’s a moral monstrosity when you disagree with them.

One cop shot one J6 insurgent who had the misfortune of being the point person of a mob heading for members of Congress with the intent of violently assaulting them. Keep in mind that the "protestors" probably would have lynched the sitting Vice President given the opportunity.

Hasn't the insanity defense always been a thing?
