Comparing Trump's ethics with that of full-time car salesmen is an insult to car salesmen and they're probably considered even less ethical than most politicians.

To clear a few things up:

    • That was an event featuring the President’s move toward green vehicles. It featured vehicles from the three largest employers of UAW workers (Ford, GMC and, yes, Stellantis)
    • Vehicles on site were the F-150, Hummer, E-Transit van, and Rubicon 4xe, not just one company’s entire consumer vehicle offering
    • The president said he wanted to drive one of the cars and someone said the keys are in the Jeep so he drove it
    • That Jeep is made in Toledo. Checks notes: Toledo is in the USA.
    • Tesla, like Stellantis, is publicly traded and held by stock holders globally. This antiquated idea of who owns the company is pretty meaningless since they both employ workers in the US and both pay taxes on vehicles sold in the US.

Elon's butthurt moment that fully turned him from tree hugger to MAGA. To be fair, it was petty for him not to invite Elon to that.

Probably, but unions have always mattered to Biden and they literally only invited companies making their vehicles with UAW workers. Elon as we all know is extraordinarily anti-union.

Trump's sales pitch for Tesla has been described as Trump going from grift to graft, so he spans the full range of the "gr*ft" occupations. Presidents have always been above such favoritism, until now. Trump is offended when anything to do with him (even peripherally) shows deterioration, like profits and stock price going south on Tesla. It makes Trump look weak. It highlights the fact that Trump is a loser and a fraud, which is the opposite of how Trump wants to be perceived. In other words, Trump will commit fraud to avoid looking like a fraud. Sounds like something a simpleton might do.

It's nothing serious--just that the president of the U.S. has a lack of integrity.

Just wondering if trump paid MSRP for his shiny new Tesla or did he get a discount (being a good negotiator and all)? :)

    "Democrats" are paying them?

As in representatives of the Democratic party?

Can you provide a link to that, or are you just posting lies? Are you just a man who repeats lies?

Interesting question since it’s not an American owned business. (InBev)

One of the many reasons that Trump loves him, although there are 277 million reasons with one hundred million more that are even more significant.

    Same.

But it was certainly pretty corrupt for the President (and his family) to explicitly shill for a particular product from the very Oval Office.

It's like he's implying directly stating that he will use the power of his office - which is the power of the sum of our citizens and country - to further the commercial interests of anyone who supports him politically.

If that's not corrupt, it's hard to determine what is. It ought to be criminal. Amazing how many Americans have so little integrity that they'd vote for such corruption and criminality.

In addition to receiving over $1B in subsidies over the last 3 years Tesla paid almost zero in taxes on $10B in US income. But hey, we fired a $55k employee who was working at the Welcome Center in River Gorge National Park. Awesome.
