Looks like from scores at SEC Championship, we are having a down year in track !!! Any info on teams ?
All I saw was that our men finished dead last at the SEC Indoor Championships and the women finished 11th out of 15. That's unheard of for Mike Holloway teams. Maybe they'll rebound for the ourdoor season that starts the end of March.
Heading in to the NCAA finals the women’s team is ranked 17th and the men’s team is 29th. We have several athletes from both teams who are not competing or haven’t performed well. I’m not an insider and there has been no official announcements, but I suspect we have quite a few injuries. I believe we may over perform versus our respective rankings, but it does appear to be a down year, whatever the cause.
Well if there is anyone who has earned a bad season it is coach Holloway. I feel confident he will have the team competitive again sooner rather than later. His record is amazing.
There is no question that Coach Holloway deserves a mulligan on the indoor results, not just because of his overall success but also because of the circumstances surrounding the results. I guarantee you however, that he is not making excuses but is busy doing what is necessary to make sure outdoor season is back to his, and Gator standards.
