We won't need to have education for what the oligarchs have planned. They want to drive down the costs of American labor by any means necessary, including deporting skilled immigrant labor. And the battle is already lost as over half the population openly supports the rich like a football team.

    This?

(can't even get any MAGAs on to defend this absolute dipshittery from their hero)

Fact check: Trump revives his lie that schools are secretly sending children for gender-affirming surgeries

“No transgender, no operations — you know, they take your kid — there are some places, your boy leaves for school, comes back a girl. Okay? Without parental consent.” He added, “At first, when I was told that was actually happening, I said, you know, it’s an exaggeration. No: it happens. It happens. There are areas where it happens.”

The total for every salary dollar in the entire government is about $110B outside of the military. The savings from decimating functional government is a very small sum of money compared to the $900B spent on defense spending. The priorities of the the GOP are utterly whackadoodle.

Defense spending should be compared to how much China spends on defense. FYI they just increased their defense spending by 7%.

Spending more on Military is a source of pride for Contra. Spending more on Education is a source of pain for Contra.

I guess it’s all about priorities.

Is spending more on education really the issue? I thought we’re in the top three annually but our results are closer to the 40s? I’m not saying cut education spending but it seems we need some kind of reform.

No argument with that. Our stuff costs more so we spend more. Do I love the results? No. But that is because we educate everyone but do a crappy job with those in poor areas. The spending is highly uneven. The results even more so.

Lol... What these Dems are really afraid of is that our kids might actually get smart enough to see right though their lies. And the smarter they get, the less likely they will want to play slave to big federal government overreach.

What I find "interesting" is that NOT ONE of the Department of Education employee is a teacher.

Link? There's no doubt that Trumph's education secretary lacks any such quals. Biden's Education Secretary, otoh, started his career as a 4th grade teacher. To your point, Ima guess that many of the DOE employees are former educators (except those appointed by the orange anti-education buffoon).

It is much easier to insert crazy at local levels than national. This has been the goal (of shifting money to private firms), for a while under the guise of home rule.

The dollars spent is an interesting one. Educating everyone, pay, parental involvement, extra curricular vs math. ;) culture. Can we say culture?…..

I'd be less confident in the outcome of this if Trump hadn't appointed such highly qualified people as ..... (checks notes) ..... Linda McMahon to head this. After all, she's the the wife of a professional wrestling executive and Trump donor.

I'm just hoping that Trump can finally put an end to all those unauthorized transgender surgeries that are happening in schools that he talked about. He's really smart and very informed!

Fact check: Trump revives his lie that schools are secretly sending children for gender-affirming surgeries

Trump made the claim again last week while discussing education policy during a New York City barbershop discussion filmed by Fox News: “No transgender, no operations — you know, they take your kid — there are some places, your boy leaves for school, comes back a girl. Okay? Without parental consent.” He added, “At first, when I was told that was actually happening, I said, you know, it’s an exaggeration. No: it happens. It happens. There are areas where it happens.”
