That was a meaningless game for them ultimately. They had top seed in SEC locked up, same for 1-seed in NCAAs. They had already beaten Bama soundly on the road, and lost to them at home in OT on a buzzer beater. That’s not a bad loss at all, and they already had the best resume in the country. It’s unfortunate that Bama might get a major bump from this because it puts them back in 1-seed consideration, but I don’t think it knocks Auburn off their perch. Resume is still better than Houston and Duke because of their conference play (and the fact that they beat Houston on a neutral court and barely lost to Duke at home). I also think theirs is better than ours because of the depth and quality of their non-conference opposition and wins.

That team was tough but not nearly as skilled or big as this team. I think we maxed out our ability in ‘13 and I wasn’t disappointed after letting it sink in. When Patric got in foul trouble, we were really stuck…he was our big man.
