This made me laugh on an OU board.... they are dead wrong because OUs SEC draw is by far easier than ours. I don't know if anyone ahs a tougher one than ours to be honest. " based upon this, that LSU, Florida (the Gators must play only the bottom of the SEC after playing Texas and Oklahoma) and Tennessee really get a break with the schedule. On the other side of that is Texas and Oklahoma and Mississippi State who have tough schedules."
Don't agree with that. She wanted to be with her boyfriend and got beat out so she left. Best of luck to her. She will start at catcher the next 3 years there.
B.S. Use common sense. Tim can tell a high school recruit, "come with us and you will get every chance to prove you should play". There are two levels of portal transfers. You can tell Kara the same thing. In the era of NIL and the portal, when dealing with top level transfers, there is no way in hell you can say the same thing. Rylee was an All-Pac 12 shortstop and as a grad transfer had one year to play. You can't tell her "you have to prove yourself". You guarantee a starting job or she doesn't come. You can't take a top level transfer from Bama with only two years left to play and tell her "you have to prove yourself". You guarantee her a starting job or she doesn't come because some other elite program will do so. Ariel had a shining freshman season. Better than the two previous seasons for Kenleigh (not a knock on Kenleigh...I hope she proves to be a superstar). I fully believe, and it has never been refuted to my knowledge, that Ariel was on the bench before fall ball started. All crap about being a life long Aggie and having a boyfriend there is just that for public consumption, to explain why we lost her. She has never said that to my knowledge. That was true when she wanted to come to UF and came. Then, consider her farewell post. One of the most damning I have ever seen. Two sentences. Never mentioned her heart being in Texas. Never thanked anyone on staff at UF. It was totally a "screw you I'm outta here post". Then add in Tim's interview a couple weeks ago when asked how hard it is to get all of this talent on the field? He replied, "Yeah. Especially when promises are made". His words, not mine. This isn't rocket science or inside info. It is common sense.
Tim has never played somebody out of being forced to. He's playing who deserves to be on that field from hard work put in over the offseason and what they've showed in practice and games. Jsut going watching a few videos on social media from fall practice and games AK did not look "with" the team at the end. After shed been to the Aggie football game. You cant concince me talk didnt happen with Ford or others while she was there. Holtorf was brought in and that position was between her Comia. That had nothing to do with AK. Kenleigh played ss at Bama, but was always a 3b and she plays the position better than AK imo. It's all the little things with bunt coverage and instinct, just all of it. AK was great for us there not saying she wasn't, but there's no drop off with having Kenleigh there. We are both entitled to our own opinions. If AK truly wanted to be here she still would be. I wish her the best. Jocey wasn't willing to sit back at OU. AK wasn't here. It is what it is. I wish her the best and hope she's happy. If you really think Tim would just boot out one of his recruits that performed well to get a transfer, assuming Cahalen to come, I think you're mistaken. Cahalen also was in competition for 2b, she was not beating out Mia. She beat AK, who very likely would be our DP and catcher when Jocey needed a break if she hadn't left. And you can't say this isn't rocket science or inside info it's common sense to defend your belief. It's your assumption. Just like my assumption is she got beat out. Unless you have the inside info what you belive is not concretely right.
Gabi over Rylee this year? Never happen in anything but a dream. Ariel has probably been to 50 Aggie football games. So what? Of course she knew she would be welcome at A&M. So what? Seemed out of it, or whatever, in the fall? Not surprising when you know you are going to be a backup at third and at catcher after the year she had last year and there's nothing she could do about it. Tim "doesn't force anyone out". In years gone by. It is a new world with NIL and the portal. I'm not saying he didn't want her to stay. That would be stupid. But she reasonably felt she was forced out for no fault of her own. Ariel had two legitimate errors the entire season. She made numerous stellar plays and I never saw any remote problem with covering bunts or anything else. Kenleigh has four by March. I stand by everything I said. If you have hard proof and facts on all of these things that Ariel was beat out of and that Kenleigh was beat out at second, etc. Provide them.
Hey Rick, I don’t know where you are going with this information but I’m hoping you find a way to get the members of this forum (and Gator Fans everywhere) to individually and/or jointly to lobby the UAA on the point you you brought up years ago -WE, GATOR SOFTBALL FANS WANT THE GAMES BROADCASTED and THAT IT IS EMBARASSING TO BE THE PREMIER PROGRAM AND BE SO FAR BEHIND THE COMPETITION that your newly posted statistics highlights. We know from your past efforts and my recent failures that it will take a lot of squeaky wheels to get the change and what we want. I think a coordinated campaign resulting in a email to the UAA players on behalf of forum members and/or fans and individual emails might just might get enough attention to get some action. It would also help if you are or know some big buck boosters. In closing, this it my last post on the broadcast subject. I apologize for the feathers, I have ruffled. I’m done but please don’t let this subject die. We need every game broadcasted next year.
The sooner people here and fans of every Gator sport realize that the UAA does not only NOT care about your opinion but actually sees you, the average fan, as the enemy... the better
You have no proof of what you're saying either. You can't say what you believe and then demand others to prove something different unless you have evidence of your viewpoint. Until AK or Coach Walton says exactly what happened, no one can KNOW the truth. So it's not fair or right to say your opinion is common sense and that anyone who disagrees with you has to prove you wrong. @alysb21 is a long time poster who has tons of respect on this thread. You've built up credibility as well and I know you're passionate about your opinions. But that's just all they are at this point. Other credible posters have as much right to their viewpoints as you. Please respect that.
I'm going to call ESPN today and see if alsy, ocala, and rick could be featured on SportsCenter and debate Florida softball. That would be fun to watch. Plus, ocala could watch the replay for free because ESPN is part of his basic package.
I don't know if this has been mentioned and if so, I apologize for reposting. According to the pregame story up on floridagators.com, all 3 weekend games at aTm will be televised on SEC Network+. When UF gets through destroying the aggies in 5 innings, come over on SEC Network+ to watch Gator gymnastics complete a Hat Trick against bama this week, UF won in men's and women's (SEC tourney) basketball and will likely win for a second time this week in Coleman Coliseum. Gymnastics airs 1 hour after the start of softball.
Didn’t say she was the only one, just want to see her shine in the biggest moments! Jocey, Otis, Kendra and Reagan have already proven their clutch factor. Want Taylor and the other ladies to rise up as well when the pressure rises. Go Gators!
Sounds like they are already scared about playing in a real conference and making excuses already lol. I guess a top five Texas A&M on the road to open conference play is soft. OU fans are just awful lol.
I just hope that amidst all this banter and conversation about who’s schedule is more challenging that our girls go out and leave no doubt who is tops on the Diamond. Go girls !
That was good lol. Really though I truly believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions and im not trying to bash anybodys, but I'm going to defend Walton and this program when things are said that we are not being fair to our players so to speak. Guranteeing playing time is not Waltons style. You put in the work and perform you're going to play. When the lineup is so stacked, your opportunities just may be more limited and you have to shine when you have them. This level of competition betters everybody. One last thing I want to add on the discussion is what Rick said regarding Comia and Holtorf then I'm done with it.... there has definetley been a battle there and it seems pretty even to me. Both have made great plays and both have made mistakes. Offensively and defensively. Rylee has a leadership factor that I belive is winning the spot over for her right now. That being said I would not be suprised at all if Comia isn't our ss by the end of the year. They are both very talented.
Lol they are not my favorite. I don't want Texas to win our conference the first year really, but as long as OU doesn't I don't care too much who does. Except I obviously want us to win lol.
What does everybody think about OU vs SC? I haven't got to watch SC much but they are for sure better than they have been.
