I think Houston is very talented. Let me start off by saying that. But it is amazing how much better our conference is than theirs. I decided to compare the conferences, and found some pretty interesting results. Here are the teams in the Big 12 standings and how they fared against our conference. 1) Houston - Of course they’re in first place in the conference and one of the best teams in the country per their rankings. Against the SEC though, they are winless with losses to Auburn and Alabama. 2) Texas Tech – they’re currently in second place in the Big 12. They’ve only played one team in the SEC and it was a loss against Texas A&M. 3) Arizona – lost to Oklahoma. 4) BYU – lost against Ole Miss. 5) Iowa State – lost against Auburn 6) Baylor – Beat Arkansas, but lost to Tennessee. 7) Kansas – lost to Missouri. 8) TCU – lost to Vanderbilt. 9) Kansas State – lost to LSU. 10) West Virginia - played zero SEC teams. 11) Utah – lost to Mississippi State. 12) Cincinnati – played zero SEC teams. 13) UCF – beat Texas A&M, lost to LSU. 14) Oklahoma State – lost to Oklahoma. 15) Arizona State – lost to Florida. 16) Colorado – played zero SEC teams. I am showing the Big 12 is 2–14, against us. So I think with the strength of our conference and with our impressive résumé, we deserve to be higher than Houston. It’s amazing how talented the SEC is this year.
I believe that the big12 and the SEC have the same record since conference play started though, so it's hard to say
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: .500 against the SEC is WAY better than .500 against the Big12. I did the math!
