I forgot to look but if she is not pitching this weekend then it is highly likely she didn't make the trip. Staying home and rehabbing.
If you people think these girls played an easy preconference schedule, check out the current SOS for the SEC MO 3 AUB 5 A&M 7 KY. 15 FL. 20 AL. 26 LSU. 40 SC. 46 GA 48 TX. 60 ARK 61 MS 84 MSU 124 TN. 129 OK. 211
OU is laughable. And yet that earned them #1.... hope SC takes that and doesn't let the moment be too big. And I know OU is still good, but they shouldnt be ranked over FL and Texas for being undefeated with that schedule in my opinion.
Warren Nolan has UF #1 in his ELO rankings ahead of Texas & Oklahoma, but #3 in RPI rankings behind Auburn & Texas A&M. By the way, Nolan's computer predicts a Texas A&M sweep this weekend.
I think we could get a sweep but I wouldn't be suprised by anything. I don't mind us not being at 1.... being under the radar so to speak isn't bad
Nolan predicts that the Aggies will sweep us! Who knows what will happen? Both teams are really good, but I wish Keagan Rothrock was available. I'm looking forward to watching, as I will surely be watching these softball games over UF/Harvard in baseball.
Im seeing his model predicting a 7-4 Gator victory on Friday. Game Result (Winner & Score) Predictions College Softball | WarrenNolan.com
I don't know how well this will format. This site apparently won't allow uploading a word document. I've tried several ways and it keeps saying "not an allowed extension". I said before the season started that I would track broadcasts for every SEC team and FSU and UCF. Now that the SEC season is starting, I'm finished. I am sure the following isn't 100% correct as I surely missed a game or two for some teams. For instance, I bet I missed some home broadcasts from UCF, USC and probably Bama and Texas. Anyway, and with some probable errors, this is highly reflective of just how far behind UF is compared to everyone else. (Yep, formatting is out of alignment from what I actually created but it appears to all be there. Reading across...team name....total broadcasts.....home broadcasts with the percentage of home games broadcast.) 2025 Broadcasting Team Total Broadcasts Home Broadcasts (Pct. Of Home Games) UF 9 5 (36%) FSU 20 10 (100%) Tennessee 20 6 (100%) Ole Miss 15 6 (100%) UGA 22 18 (100%) UCF 20 15 (79%) A&M 19 12 (100%) Arkansas 10 3 (60%) USC 18 14 (88%) Alabama 19 9 (90%) Missouri 17 0 (No home games) Auburn 19 9 (82%) LSU 16 15 (100%) Texas 19 12 (92%) Oklahoma 16 9 (100%) Kentucky 13 0 (No home games) Mississippi State 20 13 (100%)
Warren Nolan uses some computer generated system probably based on rankings, home advantage, SOS, etc.., etc….. At this point of the season, I would think the potential error would be substantial. Predicting scores for individual games is just plain ridiculous. At this point of the season nobody knows how the teams will, perform under the pressure of SEC play. Stats show aTm team batting .341 and ERA of 1.78 compared to Gators .403 and 1.58. With Rothrock hurt, I would rate pitching-Even. UF has the advantage in hitting that should offset any home field advantage. Mentally, we have the 4 wins last year. My guess is we win series. Who the hell is Warren Nolan, anyway?
One thing I know is a lot of our Gators have “IT/CLUTCH factor “ that no computer algorithm can measure. Without Rothrock I think we win 2 of 3. Obviously I’d love us to get the sweep but I think sweeps will be rare this season for every team.
I see that. It's changed since this morning. His computers are continuallu updating. He now has our SOS at #21, Texas A&M at #6. This morning it was #20 & #7.
We all know Taylor is awesome but now that competition is ramping up I want to see if she has that clutch gene. Clutch like Jocey last season, like all four seasons of Amanda Lorenz. Not just getting the big hit which she’ll do but getting that hit when it’s needed most. I think I already know the answer but her proving she’s got it should be fun to watch.
Taylor isn't the only Gator having a great year at the plate so far, although she IS the only freshman playing regularly. Here are the batting averages of our primary 8 starters: Falby .500, Shumaker .461, Cahalan .448, Williams .426, Otis .407, Erickson .386, Walsh .350, Holtorf .349. Then we have two more with over 25 official at-bats - Comia .393, Brown .310. Of course, the numbers aren't going to stay this high once we dig into the SEC season, but we've got a real powerhouse lineup from top to nottom and it will be interesting to see how many will step up and be clutch hitters in the big games to come. I imagine they'll all have their moments and several will be consistently excellent.
