We also now have two wins (@ Auburn and @ Bama) more impressive than their best win (vs. Florida). Road wins against top 5 NET teams are very, very rare.

We’ll know what seed we clinched in 10 days.

If UF defeats Ole Miss, I don't believe the selection committee will give a damn about their SEC Tournament performance in deciding upon a 1 seed. In part that's gut feel, in part it's based on how I've seen the selection committee treat upper-echelon teams in years past.

Yeah, if we win Saturday I think it is pretty much set. They aren't going to be waiting around for the conference tournaments. Have to assume the top seeds are going to be set after this weekend.

Agreed. When is the last time a team had 6 losses in conference and sniffed a #1 seed? UT doesn’t pass the test.

Is that what it said? My take would have been, Florida replaces TN as number 1 seed after another top ten win on the road this season!

I agree, six seems too much. Though, to be fair, when was the last time anyone saw a conference as strong as this one? In January, I thought 6 losses might put a team in the running to win the dang conference.

Agreed, still too many games to be played to declare any kind of "LOCK". At this point, I'd rather be the 2 seed, No. 5 overall than a 1 seed. Quite a few of 8/9 seeds that are coming on strong and can upset a 1 seed in the second game. Being a 1 seed does have it's glamour and free marketing, but it's a bad look for a 1 seed to get be in game 2. I just looked it up, a 1 seed loses the 2nd game, on average, every other year, while a 2 seed loses once in 3 years.

Florida's Q1-Q3 averages are all better than Duke's. As @Agator88 stated, Duke feasted on Q3 which helps their overall net.

At the same time, a 1-seed makes the final four twice as much as 2-seed. Of course, that's usually because 1-seeds are actually better teams who stand a chance of making a deep run. I take the 1-seed, though, whenever possible. After the first day, no game is going to be easy. Our toughest game in 2007 may have been against Carl Landry's Purdue team, which I believe was an 8-seed.

You're likely right, but a deep sect run could make us an over 3 or 2

I have no clue on tie breakers, but you would think that Ten will beat SC and Bama will lose to Auburn. Tennessee beat Bama so doesn’t that put them at the 3 seed in the SEC Tournament? A likely semifinal match up between us and them would probably be for that final 1 seed. At least that’s how the media will play it out.

Assuming we are a #1 seed along with Auburn, would the committee dare put any SEC 2 seeds in the same region (UT & Bama)?

I suspect not so, we would probably see Michigan St, Wisconsin, Texas Tech or Iowa State at the other end of our bracket.
