agree. For a potus speech to congress, all the theatrics and yelling looks dopey and doesn’t do any good. From mtg & boebert booing or heckling to Dems doing the same and holding up signs.

A $4,000 dollar difference is a big difference to unaware people who make much less when they read it. The point of the tweet is that disabled veterans are getting too much money and they want it to stop. People can argue that point but it should be obvious to everyone it’s true.

    1. Not all disabled vets get 100% disability. Most get well under 50%.

    2. Serving in combat is not a criteria. A motor pool or field training at the National Training Center is also hazardous. So are hundreds of other examples.

    3. No one in the Trump administration is discussing scrapping the disability system, AFAIK. I've had 26 years active duty and 15 years civil service, so I am pretty aware of what is going on. The big issue is to send disabled vets to civilians and privatize Healthcare. I've never been treated at a VA hospital.

Not standing for the Laken Riley family or the young black kid with brain cancer and fighting to protect waste, fraud and abuse while sitting there with scowling, hateful faces...that's effective branding my friends.

    from the actual cnn article.

“Trump claimed on Tuesday that the Department of Government Efficiency identified government spending of “$8 million for making mice transgender.” This claim needs context

The morning after Trump’s speech, the White House provided a list of $8.3 million in federal grants to health studies that involve mice receiving treatments that can be used in gender-affirming health care. The White House list made clear what Trump, in the speech, did not: The studies were meant to figure out how these treatments might affect the health of humans who take them, not for the purpose of making mice transgender.“

An earlier version of this item incorrectly characterized as false Trump’s claim about federal money being spent for “making mice transgender.” The article has been updated with context about the spending, which was for research studies on the potential human health impacts of treatments used in gender-affirming care.”

That was a new level of patheticism.

Democrats will kneel to honor the death of of a drug-using criminal like George Floyd but …. won’t stand to recognize a 13 year old cancer survivor who wants to be a law enforcement officer???!!!

I’ve always thought the liberal mind was a bit off-kilter ….. perhaps deranged ….. but never thought it could be so hateful. Those are some incorrigibly sad, sick people.

What do you think about Trump cutting research funding for cancer, Alzheimer's, and other diseases that the legislature appropriated and instead of addressing those issues paraded some rando kid around as a prop?

Amazing .... sad, sick people are the dems in congess.

    From the article:

"The reductive approach of Democrats to turn each and every issue addressed by the President as a battle within their culture war hasn't just served to be abandon any moral compass but it has also led to the abandonment of the interests of the American people for the sake of political pettiness. The deleterious consequences of a modus operandi that uses the peril Americans face and the depths of shamelessness the Democrats are willing to sink to in order to achieve it is perhaps no more evident than in the example of Payton McNabb.

McNabb sat in the gallery as a special guest of Trump's as a triumphant example of overcoming the adversity so many Americans fell victim to during the liberal crusades led during the years of the Biden administration. In 2022, the 17 year-old McNabb was severely injured during a high school volleyball game after she was struck with a spike that gave her brain damage. In addition to suffering a severe concussion, the injuries McNabb incurred led to internal bleeding in her brain that caused vision problems, loss of memory, and paralysis to the right side of her body. Despite protests by McNabb's high school team against their participation, the opponent who spiked the ball that led to her traumatic brain injury was transgender. McNabb's story become a tragic tale of the dangers that the Democrats warped gender ideology poses to women across the country.

Despite serving as a heroic example of the indomitable spirit of humanity, Democrats treated McNabb as persona non grata during Trump's speech. When the president recounted the perilous path that McNabb traversed en route to being a guest of honor during the address as an example of why his administration has taken actions to protect women in sports by cutting funding to any school in the country that allows transgender athletes to compete against them, the raucous applause her story of perseverance was met with by the Republican contingent in the House Chamber was mirrored by a deafening silence from their Democratic counterparts.

Following Trump's address, McNabb remarked upon how heartbroken she was by the callousness of the Democrats who have chosen to disregard women's safety to advance their transgender agenda. "So it was heartbreaking, and honestly I wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not." McNabb remarked to Fox News during an interview she gave the morning after the speech. She added "they didn't stand up for DJ Daniel, who is the young boy who survived brain cancer, they didn't stand up for Laken Riley's family, whose daughter literally suffered a traumatic death that should have never happened, and every other guest that was there had some sort of powerful story, and they didn't clap for any of that", remarks that highlighted the wanton disregard by Democrats for any Americans who don't conform to their radical vision for the country."

They probably should have stood and applauded for the 13-year old cancer survivor. That being said there is a high probability that he is a survivor because his treatment was at least in part the product of cancer research conducted or funded by the NIH, the same NIH funding that Elon Musk and by implication Donald Trump are cutting.
