I was thinking ticket sales, booster donations, etc. But you're right, TV is all that will really matter moving forward (just like the NFL).
This is a weird outcome to me since from an outside perspective, I can only see one scenario where the ACC didn't hold all the cards: the Government in both South Carolina and Florida indicated that they were going to get involved in some manner. By agreeing to this settlement (do all the conference members vote to approve the settlement agreement?), all the ACC has done is agree to shorten its existence by 6 years. Clemson and Florida State approve settlement with ACC over media rights contract
I don't think so. Obviously it swings up and down based on success....but this isnt the Bowden 90s and imo their core fan base would be well in the lower half of the SEC. UF, UGA, USC, Tennessee, Auburn, Bama, LSU, Arky, Oklahoma, Texas, TAMU are clearly better in my book....that's 11. Fsu is probably clearly better than vandy, miss st, Missouri. Probably better than Kentucky, but that's a pretty solid core that really hasn't had elite football in our lifetime and the differential isnt wide. Ole Miss probably has a larger true blue base than fsu but fsu has a much higher ceiling based on population and enrollment. But at best fsu would be 12th
I think we are hitting two separate evaluations. FSU, primarily due to the Bowden era, still retains some national cachet. A Michigan fan may watch them over South Carolina for example. There's also some national residue from their one strong season in 23. I'm primarily just talking about their own distinct fan base....better tracked by season ticket sales, home attendance, and football booster donations
In addition to ticket sales, donations, etc, you forgot: Academic fraud Cheating Covering up crimes Public funding for their stadium under the lie of “we are adding classrooms Accused rapist QB (twice accused)… Shall I go on? I don’t want that institution in our conference. EVER!
Yes . . . please continue. Gator Country will happily provide unlimited bandwidth for your list. If not, I'll pay for it! LOL!
This is the opposite of the NFL where if you have a crappy season, you get rewarded with the number one draft pick. This is keeping those at the bottom of the viewership / ratings on the bottom. Even with half ass u going 2-10 last year and losing to the likes of Wake Forest, they are going to get a shit ton more money. Don't like this for college football at all. Only people who would like this are the fans of those few schools.
How about nothing? The conference is already too big, and is rapidly losing its identity. Stop the bleeding.
Yeah it's getting to the point of being a conglomerate more than a conference. Recent scheduling has exasperated it as well. FSU pretty clearly got the better of this settlement, can hope it burns them in the long run though.
After not finding a more suitable home, seems like fsu "sued" to stay in ACC afterall. Dirty sons a batches!
FSU's stadium is half-empty when they're bad. Very fair-weather fans. And, their stadium hasn't ever approached the size of the bigger SEC stadiums anyway. Currently 79K.

Not really as your data is one yr and the graph is a 7 year compilation. The ACC will use a five yr rolling average so 1 down yr like FSU last year is blended with 4 others.
