those were some pretty specific and severe allegations by Carlson which, if true, would clearly be reason to end all aid to Ukraine immediately. So, can I ask what's the purpose of posting them if you don't know if they're true or not?

I would been upset had Trump caved and signed anything that pledged American assets as security in return for the minerals.

Poster might take note that the loan is funded and backed by the frozen assets of Russia held in Europe, not by Ukraine assets.

What is “the deal” then? Mineral rights conferred to (unnamed oligarchs) in exchange for (???).

Please fill in the blanks for us.

It’s so funny that no matter how much bullshit the dems make up get caught and are given a pass. I for one am a proud American who loves the fact we have a president who puts America 1st. We’ve given & given to everyone, we are $30 trillion in debt and not one country ever pays us back. It’s time for that shit to change.

Because when you go shopping, you buy things without paying for them? What do you do when the cashier asks for money? Do you cave and give her the money she asks for? What exactly does Ukraine get in exchange for the minerals that you want them to give up? You want Ukraine's assets, but without the U.S. giving up anything to get them? Your tin foil hat might be wound a little too tight. Do you really think that Ukraine would consider it a good deal to have to give up 20% of their land (with most of the minerals underneath that land) AND the rights to the rest of their minerals in exchange for Trump negotiating a "peace" with Russia?

I thought the US already gave Ukraine over 300 billion? Kind of like a cash advance on the minerals.

If Dictator Zelensky is depending on England and France for support, he may as well find a safe haven and capitulate as he has no chance. England and France can't take care of themselves. PM Starmer is for giving Ukraine nuclear weapons. Should this happen, the US should immediately withdraw from NATO.

Unfortunately, what went around does not come around for all of Ukraine. The Ukrainians obtained their independence by agreeing to give over their nuclear arsenal to Russia. Getting a few nuclear weapons from England and France would mark the start of the ending of any independent Ukraine and could start WWIII. Like Ukraine joining NATO, nuclear weapons provided by the west would also be a final straw for Russia.

I'm not sure Dictator Zelinsky can survive internal Ukrainian politics before the lawmakers and government decide to overthrow him, presuming he doesn't resign before then.

The deal Trump provided is still on the table. It took the actions of a dictator to reject what the Ukrainian government had already agreed to. We'll see how this works out. I don't think it will take too long before things break in Ukraine, either internally or by Russia swallowing the whole Ukraine nation.

That 20% of land is occupied by Russian speaking people who would likely vote to join with Russia if there were a free and fair election. Of course, Dictator Zelinsky doesn't allow elections in Ukraine.

How can that portion of land that is considered to be the breadbasket also be the 20% of land where most of the minerals exist?

Putting America first, as you say, will cause America to finish last. Our influence around the world will wane (that means shrink, BTW), and wars will increase and become larger as our enemies become more powerful. Alliances will fall apart, and it's every country for itself. Civilization (that's a big word, I know) will fall apart. Our enemies will band together and work to defeat us.

We actually get more than we give for most of our overseas investments. We are able to reduce the spread of deadly diseases, usually before they reach our shores. We have free trade with most of the world, so we get our goods much cheaper than if we made them domestically. We have not had a major terrorist attack in the U.S. since 9-11, which was caused in part by an unwillingness to fund ANY of the rebuilding of Afghanistan after they had defeated our old enemy, the Soviet Union. The Afghans turned to Islamic fundamentalism, which led to them harboring Al Qaeda on their soil. So get ready for the terrorist attack of the month to return to the U.S., with thousands of Americans dying needlessly. What will Trump do then? Play whack-a-mole with nuclear weapons? (That will only inspire more terror attacks, BTW.) Is that the kind of world you want to live in?

If you are worried about the growth of the national debt, why do you support Trump? He spent money like a drunken sailor in his first term while handing out tax breaks to corporations, making billionaires even more wealthy. This caused the national debt to increase by $3 trillion in his first three years of office, before the big spending on Covid research and vaccines. As far as whether $36 trillion is too much national debt or not, inflation is only around 3% right now, so obviously, it's not too terrible. You should start crying when inflation get closer to 10%. (Your grandparents are laughing at you, BTW, as they suffered through double-digit inflation.)

    Decisions have consequences, son.

Poster either is as misinformed as the orange cult leader or intentionally lying. Zelinski is not a dictator and has the 100% full backing of Ukraine's Parliament :
"Ukraine's parliament has defied President Donald Trump's push to hold elections after they unanimously voted to affirm Volodymyr Zelensky's presidency, according to member of parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak's post on Telegram."
Since his popularity and the huge margin of his election victory was far greater than that of the felon's, it is more likely that there is a third Impeachment in the US than a coup in Ukraine. Note that he 100% backing of his Parliament while the WH barely has 50%.

    What do you refer to?

    This should be interesting.

Certainly you aren't still incorrectly talking about Traitor Trump's campaign colluding with Russia, as this was cited by the Republican Senate Intelligence Committee.

So what are you referring to?

Senate panel finds Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. election

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat, a Senate panel concluded Tuesday as it detailed how associates of Donald Trump had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin’s help.

This is interesting .... the Ukranian people hosed by incorrigible dems politicans trying to hurt the Trump administration. These dem pollies are cretins.

Disaster in the Oval Office: Dems lead Zelensky, Ukraine off a cliff with pressure to reject mineral deal

    > Before meeting Trump, Zelensky met with anti-Trump Democrats who advised him to reject the terms of the mineral deal the president was offering, according to Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).

    >“Just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no security arrangements for Ukraine,” Murphy’s office posted on X at 11:15 a.m. Friday.

    >Forty minutes later, Zelensky arrived at the White House, where Trump met his car, smiled, shook his hand and walked him into the Oval Office.

    >The earlier meeting with Dems undercuts wild claims that Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance staged an ambush. In fact, it was Zelensky who came with an ulterior motive. The purpose of the meeting was to sign the mineral agreement he and Trump representatives had negotiated. He had twice refused to sign it after promising to, and thanks to Murphy, we now know he had no intention of signing it Friday.

    LOL, what a weird comment.

I'm instead just displeased at people who believe lies and then repeat them. One would think informed (??) adults would be able to figure out by now when they're repeatedly being lied to, and by whom.

Here, though - I'll give you some help since you appear to need it. Try to detect who is lying to you. :)

"The United States has put up far more aid for Ukraine than any other nation, hundreds of billions of dollars," Trump said. "We've spent more than $300 billion, and Europe has spent about $100 billion. That's a big difference."

Later on, in response to a question on whether the U.S. would help with reconstruction in Ukraine after the war, Trump said: "We're in there for about $350 billion. I think that's a pretty big contribution."

Government resources place the amount of supplemental funding appropriated by Congress since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine at $174 billion -- which includes not only support for Ukraine but also for other countries affected by the conflict, stationing additional NATO troops and more.

Fact-checking Trump's claims on amount of US aid to Ukraine

Disappointing if true, Senators should not be negotiating with foreign leaders for US foreign policy.

    That’s trump claim.

the amounts do seem to vary, but none back trumps claim. And most of it is spent in the US. And a big percentage of it is used for when we send them older armaments and we then replenish our inventories with newer versions. ie we have thousand and thousands of older Bradley’s. And we send them the older versions.
For Ukraine the Bradley’s are like gold.

How much has the US given to Ukraine?
