So you tell me why he gave his son a blanket pardon? I’ll wait.

Ukraine would be in much better shape with the full support of the U.S. But they are not in terrible shape right now. They are not doing anything desperate in Kursk, and they are continuing to slow Russian advances in the east. European countries have not picked up the slack in support as far as I can tell, and continue to dump old weapons on Ukraine that Ukraine has little use for. Ukraine can still win this war, but it just got a whole lot more difficult.

Because Trump's a criminal -convicted felon at that- who will (already is) misuse the Justice Department in a criminal manner to persecute political opponents.

    Thanks for waiting!

Maybe because he knew or thought Hunter had committed serious crimes. Or maybe because he thought the Trump Doj would obsessed with trying to find something, anything whether valid or not. I don’t know. Do you?

An interesting style that describes Trump's negotiating style. Trump tries to be intimidating while taking an extreme position. This negotiation style was originally recommended in a bestselling book published in 1973. The book also says that you cannot be intimidated by the other negotiator. The author of the article says that Trump is clearly intimidated by both Elon Musk and Vlad Putin, who are both apparently more successful leaders than Trump.

Trump also has a habit of trying to bully America's allies, and that tends to only work once, as indicated by Canada's reluctance to agree to Trump's terms and willingness to fight back on the tariffs.

    Bottom line: Trump = loser.

Opinion - Why Trump’s strategy of negotiation through intimidation is a losing one

I’ll be happy if I never hear the name Hunter again. Don’t care for who he is as a person or some of his documented actions. However, it seems pretty obvious Joe did it so that Hunter wouldn’t have to deal with malicious prosecutions after he left office. The pardon, whether you agree with the use or not, kept him from being a further target in the criminal context. Hunter already had one twisted congressperson showing off his genitals in a congressional hearing and constant haranguing about his drug use and lack of relationship with his daughter so it’s entirely plausible the Trump DOJ would pursue Hunter for no other reason than Trump’s dislike.

Zelensky promised Britain’s ‘full backing’ with calls to cancel Trump’s UK visit

He described his meeting with Starmer as ‘meaningful and warm’ after the pair signed a loan agreement.

In a statement released on X after their meeting, the Ukrainian president added: ‘During our talks, we discussed the challenges facing Ukraine and all of Europe, coordination with partners, concrete steps to strengthen Ukraine’s position, and ending the war with a just peace, along with robust security guarantees.’

Yes, UK and Europe are definitely supporters of Ukraine as long as they pay them back with interest

Rutte advises Zelenskyy to restore relationship with Trump

"I told Zelenskyy you have to find a way to restore your relationship with Donald Trump and the US administration," Rutte said in an interview with BBC.

He emphasized that the US, Ukraine, and Europe need to stay united in order to bring Ukraine to a lasting peace.

When asked what Zelenskyy said about his meeting with Trump, Rutte replied that he was not authorized to disclose what they discussed. However, he made it clear to Zelenskyy that "we really have to respect what President Trump has done so far for Ukraine" (referring to the Javelin anti-tank missiles supplied by the US).

The NATO Secretary General added that Ukraine would be "nowhere" without the support of the United States.

Correct. But Trump has done absolutely nothing for either Ukraine or the United States.

And Trump represents neither. Trump is in these negotiations representing Russia.

    Trump is a traitor.

Interesting take on Zel's trip to the WHouse. I agree with the assertion that Zel played it wrong ... acting like a tough guy dressed like he was going for a jog.

Head of Ukraine's President's Office insists on signing deal in Washington, Kellogg opposes – The New York Post

    Some highlights:

    >The conservative American newspaper The New York Post reports that Keith Kellogg, the US President's Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, was against signing the subsoil agreement during a personal meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump, but Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, insisted on this format.

    >A senior US official told the newspaper that Kellogg pressed Zelenskyy to sign a mining rights agreement with the US during the envoy's visit to Kyiv last week, but Yermak insisted on doing it in the Oval Office on Friday.

    >The official says Kellogg "advised against it, knowing that the relationship [between the presidents] needed to be strengthened" before the face-to-face meeting.

    >This week, several Ukrainian sources told The Post of their suspicions that Zelenskyy's team had forced the visit to the White House.
