Let’s go Gators! And here’s hoping for some good news for Coppola and Kurland on their injury statuses.

Coppola had blister issues which is a relief. Kurland appears to have dislocated his shoulder. Not good.

Never dealt with a blister as a pitcher, but I've read, that similar to a high ankle sprain in some sports, they can nag a pitcher all season unless time is taken off for the blister to heal 100 percent.

Lots of tricks and some guys can make it work depending on where the blister is. Sometimes, like you said, you just have to let it heal though. Luckily, hands heal quickly. Question is do you develop a callus or quickly rip it open again.

Check out what Moises Alou would do to toughen up his hands and callouses when you have a few free moments.

I’ve also heard pickle juice. Google machine says piss would actually make your hands softer, but thinks pickle juice would work.

There will be another good crowd for the final game. 9,300 was pretty full, people were standing 3-5 deep on the concourse along the first base line. The rest of the concourse was full of loiterers who had been dragged to the game, but were happy to wander. Big crowds make the games more fun. My guess is there will be some SEC weekends that will be even more crowded, especially if these early games turn out to be good predictors of the rest of the season. I hope they already have plans for bringing in bleachers for the Super Regional.

Back in our day pickle juice was the go to. I don’t remember anybody using anything else. But truthfully most of the guys I knew had some form of manual labor jobs that kept them toughened up. Blisters weren’t so common on the field.

Based on Sully’s comments about Pierce, I feel pretty good. I did notice and commented in the game thread last Sunday that Pierce’s velocity was down as there would be short periods of time when he would sit at 88 to 90.
