National strike to force congress to act? We can't let our armed forces or our tax dollars be used to help Russia continue to commit war crimes

Absolutely there is a faction of Ukrainians who didn’t want to live as a separate country from Russia and Diana Panchenko is part of that faction. What else would you expect from her?

"I will end this war in 24 hours" - Donald Trump
Watch: Donald Trump Says as President He’d Settle Ukraine War Within 24 Hours

    So, in a nutshell:
    1. Putin refuses to give Trump an easy win and stop the war in Ukraine.
    2. Zelensky stubbornly declines to surrender Ukraine to Russia despite colossal pressure.
    3. Trump is in a deadlock trying to shift responsibility onto Ukraine for the fiasco of his unrealistic and illusional "plan" to get the Nobel Peace Prize quickly.
    4. World unites behind Zelenskyy likely prolonging this even further

Donald Trump the "deal maker". Reminds me of the Mexican wall fiasco.

This X post is from Ivan Katchanoveki, a political scientist at the University of Ottawa:
"16% electoral support for Zelensky in 2024 poll was inflated & is lower now. x.com/I_Katchanovski… "Just 16 per cent would vote to re-elect him for a second term, according to an opinion poll of 1,200 Ukrainians by the Social Monitoring Centre in Kyiv. About 60 per cent would prefer Zelensky not to even stand for re-election." And polls significantly overestimate his popularity in Ukraine because of exclusion of pro-Russian Crimea & Donbas & fear to express views contrary to undemocratic Zelensky regime."

The EU has provided a greater amount of funding to Ukraine than the US.

However, we tend to by actual polls rather than a poster’s opinion of what the Ukrainian people think

Zelenskyy came to power in 2019, well after Biden's speech to Ukraine's parliament. Once the war started and Biden started putting pressure on him, Zelenskyy started rooting out corruption and removing corrupt officials from government. Remarkable that he was able to do this while fighting an existential war with Russia.

Once again, we are not trusting Zelenskyy with cash handouts. We are sending weapons and ammunition, mostly older and out-of-date stocks. Yes, we can trust Ukraine with our older and out-of-date weaponry. They are unlikely to sell it and go to Vegas while they are fighting an existential war.

Focus on making smart and factual arguments before you worry about making straw man arguments.

So you're saying that 34% of America will blindly follow Trump wherever he goes? That 34% of Americans are unable to think for themselves? Sounds about right.

Maybe Vance should learn some manners before he expects any in return from a foreign leader, especially one who is so much more accomplished than he is. Zelenskyy is risking his life every day in a war against a military superpower (you know Putin would have him assassinated if he could). He has more courage than JD Vance could possibly imagine.

At least Vance did not make up an accusation about Zelenskyy eating cats and dogs on the way to the White House.

Well, it's not like the U.S. have been giving Ukraine used weapons from the 1980's. No, wait . . .

What is a fair deal for Ukraine? I mean we’ve only been given them billions upon billions of dollars and military equipment for the last 11 years so tell me what is a good deal for Ukraine. When is America come first with any of you liberal people?

We have to hope that enough republicans come to their senses before the mid-terms to get democrat majorities in both houses, and then hope they can work together to get Trump out of the White House. Vance will try to fill Trump's shoes and be a little dictator, but Congress and the people will not follow his lead. He's not a con-man like Trump is. Vance will wilt under the pressure and start caving in to Congress' demands. Having a democrat majority in both houses is dangerous, but not nearly as dangerous as Trump.

Very cool - I was really wondering how Tucker Carlson would lie and shill for Russia. And here it is!

Congrats to you for repeating Russian propaganda.

    MAGA is a disgrace.

The Ukrainians have also murdered a number of people in various countries in political assassinations, and tried to murder others, including American journalists and a European head of state.

Because freedom and democracy worldwide are important to most Americans. It keeps the global violence levels down, and makes the U.S. economy more successful when we have free trade with countries that are not at war with each other. If we let Russia win in Ukraine, we will have to spend a LOT MORE on national defense in the next decade. We already spend about $800 billion a year on national defense, BTW. If we can help Ukraine win this war, we will spend a LOT LESS on national defense in the next decade, saving us several trillion dollars. I am not making up these numbers--it is what actually happened when the USSR collapsed in 1990 after losing their War in Afghanistan. Russia's defeat may also dissuade China from invading Taiwan. That is all a very good deal for America.

Intelligent Americans know better than to "put America first" to save a few billion dollars on military support for Ukraine now while spending a few trillion dollars more on national defense in the next decade. Talk about penny-wise and pound foolish . . .

Defeating Russia is "America First". Ukraine is doing our fighting for us, defeating a common enemy. You aren't doing yourself any favors by pinching pennies on aid to Ukraine.
