American’s proxy war which purpose was to see Putin outed and Russia weakened has been a catastrophic failure on every level.

But as evidenced on this forum, Americans and Europeans will buy the fantastical spin that plucky underdog Ukraine thwarted Russia from rolling through the whole of Europe.

I just received a really interesting perspective of what happened from a friend of mine, a political analyst, that is closely connected in Ukraine (amongst many other states).

Apparently, Zelensky speaks English OK, not perfect. But Zelensky did not use a translator earpiece in the talks. There were several instances where this made a big difference, like when Zelensky said “we have been at this alone,” when he was trying to convey that Ukraine did not ask for troops from other countries. A huge miss in translations.

Overall, Zelensky made some huge and unexpected errors. For example, when Trump said last question, Zelensky should have shook his hand and said, let’s get to work. But, likely due to the enormity of the stress, and some history of bad blood with Vance, he prolonged the conference and gave Vance room to punch.

Rather than leave with the land-rights deal, and a promise of defense support, he left with a large political headache.

    interesting feedback.

First, imo, why there aren’t operational T72s with a “Z” on the side sitting Kyiv,
is primarily due to 2 men:
    1) Zelensky
    2) Biden.

With that said I agree Zelensky isn’t good at these diplomatic back and forths. Even with Biden he has some flubs. And some of them are easy to land.

let us know other insights you get. Thanks!

As you might imagine, I’m none too pleased, and I more than understand how others would be upset, too. I absolutely fail to see how any of that is in our interest.

Even when Trump has a potentially good idea, such as making a mineral rights deal that would put Putin in a box, he can’t execute it because he is such a petulant child.

It is going to be very obvious that 2017-2020 Trump had some competent people around him that kept the wheels from flying off. Now it is a whole different ballgame - and any scenario is possible, most of them not good.

Ukraine should force him out of office and put someone in his place before he backs them into a corner they can’t get out of.

Typical woefully misguided analysis. In fact, that spat will probably go down as the big turning point in the negotiated peace. But I understand for some it’s all you can do not perpetuate the reflexive, dishonest media narrative.

Complete bullshit, this was a setup.

MTG's boyfriend asking him questions, Russian news media in the room, and people were heard before the meeting talking about how big the news was going to be coming out of it.

This was political theater and Zelensky apparently wasn't given a script.

What media narrative? Are you going to pretend all of us didn’t see the atrocious behavior of POTUS and kid eyeliner?

it was handled correctly and Vance built a ton of street cred. Zelenskyy needed to be humbled like that. It was so long overdue. I haven’t been silent about his affinity for shouting down world leaders who don’t acquiesce to his demands. It was, in fact, Zelenskyy who behaved like a child by challenging Vance like that IN THE WHITE HOUSE with media watching. Zelenskyy thought he was going to gaslight our VP. He thought wrong.

Norway knows that Russia wouldn't dare invade them--Russia would have to go through Finland. Russians remember the last time that they tangled with the Finns--they don't want to repeat that.

Street cred - you are something. With who? The 62% of Americans who support Ukraine?

Vance is a couch humping buddy of Peter Thiel, just like Elon is Trump's sugar daddy and Putin is both their daddies.

Zelenskyy is one of the greatest heroes of our generation--bar none. He has been standing up to a superpower bent on global domination, with only a little help from his allies. He's a modern day Winston Churchill, even if English is not his primary language. He's brought out the toughness and determination in his countrymen, and inspired thousands of foreigners to come to Ukraine and fight for him. He can't win by having more money than Russia, and he can't win by making more weapons. He HAS been winning by being smarter and wiser than the Russians. And now he has to deal with a Russian sympathizer and wanna-be dictator and thief being elected U.S. president.

Zelenskyy has the humility of an Abraham Lincoln and the wisdom of a George Washington. Trump has the foolishness of a William McKinley combined with the economic sense of a Herbert Hoover and the arrogance of an Andrew Jackson. We'll be lucky if all Trump puts the country through in the next four years is a depression and a minor war.

History will rate Zelenskyy a far better world leader than Trump in every possible way, even if he loses the Ukraine War. Trump is simply an ignorant clown who does not know what he's doing.

Not sure what made you write this, but Russia shares a direct border with Norway. Weather permitting, Russia can take a small piece of Norway by land before the terrain gets impermissible and would force amphibious operations to continue movement down the coast. I remember it well because I used to love playing Red Storm Rising in the 90s, and it was always part of the Soviet plan of action.

Oh, bullshit. Vance started it and got upset Zelenskyy wasn’t obsequious to him. If you think that bought Vance street credit it says more about you than Vance demonstrating any kind of admirable behavior.

You get so upset when you're wrong. You do realize that in one breath (in the WH of all places), Zelenskyy disrespected Obama, Trump and Biden?? His diatribe wasn't directed at Vance. It was directed at the United States and that is why it was proper for Vance and Trump to put him out to pasture. The essence of what Zelenskyy was bloviating was that America hadn't done enough. There's your bullshit. We've done way more than we should have, in fact. But in any case, so a little gratitude. You're at the f'n WH. Your country is on the brink. If you just have to pick a fight with Vance, wait until you're behind closed doors.

But you'll never remove the yellow and blue kneepads, will ya? Since you enjoy it so much, perhaps you can explain to us what Zelenskyy accomplished for the yellow and blue today with his act?

Respect for the White House...please..let me know when Zelenskyy craps on the WH floor, sends a hundred cops to the hospital and beats cops with poles and fire extinguishers. The two troglodytes sitting in the White House today dont seem to have any respect for anything or anyone as evidenced by the pardons bestowed on all our tourists (convicted criminals by a jury of their peers the American way) on January 6 who really disrespected our country and were released by Orange Cheesus.
