The Florida Gators have not had issues with the running back position under assistant coach Jabbar Juluke’s guidance, and the unit is expected to be a strength once again in 2025. Montrell Johnson, Florida’s leading rusher in 2022 and 2023, is the room’s only significant departure as he seeks a career in the NFL. Johnson suffered multiple injuries in 2024 but still ran for 593 yards and six scores on a team high 5.9 yards per carry. The Gators return four running backs and welcome three from the high school ranks.

Gator Country provides our spring camp preview of the running back position.

Our RB stable is imho better than georgia's. Looking forward to Chauncey Bowens being mediocre the same way Carson Beck was. Don't diss the Gators.

Looking forward to seeing Daniels this spring. His speed brings another dimension to the RBs.

Yes! He, Baugh, and Ja'Kobi Jackson are going to bring it. I can't recall which of the two of Jackson and Daniels seemed so incredible when they had the ball. Maybe both. Daniels was 7.0 a carry, best on team. A team can prepare for a Montrell type RB coming straight at you, and he's big. But the guys that are fast but create their open field are more difficult. You can practice and be somewhat ready to take on a guy like Montrell but not their type.

Daniels didn't play much, but was good when he did. He's faster than Baugh and Jackson. Baugh was good to go from day one. It looked like Daniels needed a year to adjust to college.

See my edit: meant to say this year's stable is going to be difficult to "corral".

Might be the best RB and WR room combined with OL and QB since 96. There are no holes. 2 all American type OL. 2 beast RBs with depth. Game changer, leader and athlete at QB. WR has speed (mizell, Tre), strength (Sturdivant, Khaleil, Abrams and more speed (tank ). The ONLY thing that could hold us back at all is playcalling.
We need to see Tennessee year 1 CBN.
