Some new rules on thread titles, no nicknames - please read

You've told me in the past the mods have little to do with it. You can't deny that what I posted is true. You could Obama and Hillary anything you wanted. On of the mods called her "Cuckqueen" for years. Trump gets elected in 2016 and the rules change within weeks. I know this because used to call him Dotard until a mod told me to stop. Said the rules had changed. Biden elected in 2020 and the rules change. Call him anything you want. Same mod calls him Sleepy Joe for 4 years. I asked a mod about this in a PM and they told me the rules changed. 2024, Trump elected, Rules change. No more nick names. These are FACTS bro. Don't gaslight me.

 

We didnt allow any reference to r*tard. THAT was the rule change. Dotard would fit that bill.

Trump was called all kinds of things while he was POTUS on this board. (Heck, I called him all kinds of names.)

But I think its ok for our site to not have a bunch of failed attempts at crude middle school humor posing as thread titles every other thread.

This time (as River pointed out) it was not a conservative that even brought this up in the mod forums.

And River was the one that brought it here publicly. This was a moderator decision.

 

The mod was hallgator ... I told him in a pm that dotard and retard are not from the same word origin, they don't even sound the same when pronounced, and he said he knew that but thought it was too disrespectful or something. Don't tell me it didnt happen ... It happened.

 

I can't speak for that, but I know that dotard was considered in that rule. As for Hall, he sadly isnt here at this point and all I can speak about is now and the fact that we have never changed these rules as a team based on who the potus is. In fact the recent change has allowed open season on Trump in threads. We are just asking people to keep the titles at least a little bit mature.

The cuck/hildabeast stuff is actually part of what lead to it. That and DemoRATS and MAGATs are not something we want to see.

There is another site for the childish crap...but word of warning, they make you pay now and dont like any opposition.

Yes it should. But where we disagree is on the reason and timing of the rules evolving.

Why would the liberal who first brought this option up want us to change the rule now? And how does that reinforce your point?

 

Probably because reasonable people want it this way, permanently, and get less push back when it’s criticism and name calling of republicans being censored. I’m like 90% sure it was actually you (maybe River) that responded to a question circa 2021 about why name calling of Biden had resumed when it was banned under Trump, and the response was something like “insulting politicians is allowed now, we just decided not make an announcement about that”.

I’ll look forward to these new rules being walked back in 2029 and you pretending like we never had this conversation….

 

I’m not complaining about the rule change. I perfer it this way, too. But for you to say this was your idea from a couple weeks ago doesn’t add up. I already shared with you the moderator note I got on Nov 9th or 10th (from an unknown mod), just a couple days after Trump was elected, saying we are longer allowed to call the future president an “idiot”, even in the body of post, so from where I was sitting, the rule changes started shortly after he was elected.

 

Reminds me of back during Trumps first term, when I changed my avy to a picture of Trump in an orange prison jumpsuit behind bars. I did it in response to a MAGA troll poster who had been sporting an unflattering picture of Michelle Obama in his avy for quite a while. A few days after sporting my new Trump avy, I saw a stickied thread at the top of the forum titled: “No politically-charged avys allowed.” I was like “how convenient”

Name calling of politicians should be fine. Keeping titles clean is ok with me if it’s universally enforced.
