You're probably right in the sense that they're 1000x smarter than her or any of the MAGA Morons.

She has the role. Neither of us have any say on that. I have to hope for the best and give her a chance to succeed. Her job is ultimately to get Trump to listen and get through the wall of bullshit. The smartest most accomplished person cannot do that. It takes a certain person to do that with Trump, and honestly that is all I can hope. A lot is ridding on her ability to get inside his mind.

I'm surprised, I didn't think she would get approved.

I had already assumed that the White House was run out of the Kremlin anyway. This will just short circuit the need for Meet Puppet Moron to leak intelligence to Putin. Gabbard can transmit it directly now.

Neither did I. Apparently Trump really put pressure on the few Republicans who were considering voting against her confirmation. As I posted several weeks ago regarding the Hegseth nomination Trump's real point isn't just ensuring that he gets the cabinet that he wants but rather that he can demonstrate his total dominance over Republican members of Congress or more specifically in the case of confirmations of cabinet and cabinet level nominees the 53 Republican senators. Although I still despise him for the way that he manipulated the rules to give Trump his far right SCOTUS I do admire Mitch McConnell for having the balls to buck Trump. I guess as one of the last Reagan Republicans he decided to prioritize national security over obedience to the Dear Leader and his likely decision not to run for reelection immunized him from the threat of being primaried.

Funny to me how you people use “MAGA” like a bludgeoning tool as if you expect people who fit that description to respond in any other way than “Yes ? You called ?”

Gabbard: 100 Intel Officers Fired for 'Brazen' Conduct

More than 100 intelligence officers across 15 agencies will be fired, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said Tuesday—but this is no cost-cutting move. Gabbard said she issued a directive to terminate them for participating in sexually explicit conversations on a government chat tool. The New York Times reports the National Security Agency's "Intelink" messaging platform was supposed to be used by employees to discuss "sensitive security matters." A DNI rep said on X that Gabbard has sent a memo to all intelligence agencies instructing them to identify the employees who were a party to the "obscene, pornographic, and sexually explicit" chats and to terminate their employment and revoke their security clearances by Friday.

・The chats: Fox News reports chat logs allegedly showed employees "discussing their experiences with gender-reassignment surgery, artificial genitalia, hormone therapy, polyamory, and pronoun usage." The Times reports transcripts were first shared Monday by conservative activist Christopher Rufo and Hannah Grossman at the City Journal.

・From Gabbard: In a Tuesday interview with Fox News' Jesse Watters, Gabbard had this to say: "They were brazen in using an NSA platform intended for professional use to conduct this kind of really, really horrific behavior. And they were brazen in doing this because when was the last time anyone was really held accountable? Certainly not over the last four years, certainly not over the last 10, maybe 20 years, and we look at some of the biggest violations of the American people's trust in the intelligence community."

As with a number of other Trump's appointments to cabinet and cabinet level positions Tulsi Gabbard is the least qualified person for the position of DNI since that position was created by Congress. Not only she is unqualified based on her lack of experience she probably couldn't even get the necessary security clearance for a staff level position with any federal agency involved in national security.

I'm pretty sure there is a legal requirement of experience in the intelligence field, which she clearly does not have.

There are no laws in Trumpy land. We don't even need to nominate qualified people.

We just need our Great Orange Daddy.

The irony of all this is we've been drone striking the hell out of AQ in Syria. Aren't "endless foreign wars" her jam?
