Clayton is our best player, but more often he plays lackadaisical and stops his dribble and doesn’t ask for it back except to shoot. I understand he is not a true pg but………. Go gators! Get back on the horse.
Hopefully this will be a very harsh teachable moment that they have to be on their game for 40 minutes.
A friend that was there..sitting 2 rows behind our team ( and he played collegiate sports) said that for 2/3 of game refs allowed uga to hold and grab our players jerseys..that officiating was horrible..said he was surprised Golden didn't go off on the refs
We didn’t lose this game because the refs we lost because we went another 8,9 min span with no energy
As this Georgia game indicated, a good defensive team can sort of take Florida's point guard out of rhythm and stall the offense where it becomes a half-court game. Georgia forced FLorida into numerous turnovers when players tried to hand off the ball around the arc: Clayton had 5 turnovers and the team had 11 total.
I guess we did not take being dropped to a two seed too well. Golden should have used to get as poster board material.
It was just an ABYSMAL 1st half (or first 15 minutes or whatever since we did start chipping away before the half). Richard was the only factor that kept it close and put the rest of the team in position to chip away. Team had a good 2nd half, but FT’s ends up the final nail. I think we were below 50% at one point w double digit misses. I thought we had it even with the 1 missed FT that left Florida up 2 (instead of 3). But you have to give their kid credit for nailing the clutch 3, and we pretty much went ice cold from there.
Well I watched baseball's win tonight and recorded basketball. Got lucky I guess as the recording didn't work for some reason so I came here to get the bad news. I read all the criticism of Clayton, probably deserved but I note that Condon/Hough was a combined 4-18. Not good obviously. Losing to Ga sucks but I fully expect team to be motivated after this and put it on the Aggies Saturday.
I don’t understand why our bigs don’t attack the rim on offense. Yes they are getting drapped on but just slam it home. Bound to get fouled more often then not but what the heck give it a shot b/c our finesse around the rim is lacking.
Will Richard was the only Gator who had a good game tonight, IMO, and he was great! Pretty much everybody else had off nights. But the free throw shooting cost them the game, plus the complacent way they started the first 10-12 minutes of the game. Dug a hole too deep to come out of. But even though they did take a small lead late, they didn't deserve to win and in the long run maybe it's best that they lost. Time to re-focus for the stretch run.
Let's hope the team didn't peak too early and is just in a lull before these last few big games and the tourney. LSU game wasn't pretty either. Seeing the Vols, Bama and Mizzou clean up easily tonight while we go down isn't fun.
Got home late did not see the game yet but was wondering did Aberdeen or Chin get hurt as they didn't play many minutes in the box score
