That thought, is honestly horrifying. But I think it's probably inevitable.

My guess is our intelligence sharing with our soon to be "ex-allies" is going to be paired well back due to Trump.

Which leaves us exposed to increased risk in the national security arena.

Trump feels it is better when he controls the truth, with help from Putin.

I wouldn’t blame them. Especially the way Trump’s team just emailed cia names on an unsecured sever. That’s just what we hear about, no telling what this chaotic admin is doing.

Everything Putin is telling them to do apparently. There is no "for the Common Good" in anything they are doing.

They are just leaving Trump's shit-filled diapers on the front porch of every governmental organization before throwing gasoline and a match on it and running off.

You can see Putin's fury at losing the Ukraine war behind all of it.

The U.S. has joined Russia and is in opposition to most of the civilized world in refusing to condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Civilization takes two steps backwards as the United States officially sanctions murder, torture, and theft on a grand scale. It is the kind of thing that would make any American with a conscience ashamed to be an American. America under Donald Trump takes one step closer to becoming Nazi Germany. What will Donald Trump sanction next? We should name the body of water on the south side of the U.S. the Gulf of Totalitarianism.

Dragging Ukraine into war with Russia was a disgrace. Democrats rigged the 2020 election and 1 million people died.

What “don’t you agree with”? This article doesn’t interject much opinion.

I just find “this is a history lesson, i don’t agree with it” a weird thing to say so… what is the part you disagree with and why?

this would be the right thing to do. if DT insists on the US getting repaid, take it from the seized assets..

dems messaging sux so bad. why aren't they telling dt on every channel that here is the pot of gold to repay the US taxpayer. I think the voters would chose to take it from the oligarchs over the Ukranians

‘Enough is enough’: Europe’s leaders are piling pressure on the EU to release $200 billion of frozen Russian assets to fund Ukraine

Europe’s leaders to the East are piling pressure on the EU to release hundreds of billions of dollars worth of frozen Russian assets to fund Ukraine’s war effort as relations with the U.S. deteriorate. Leaders from Poland, Estonia, and Finland have in the last week added to growing calls to liquidate Russian central bank reserves, which have been valued between $200 billion and $300 billion.

Russian central bank reserves located in Europe—including currency, gold, and government bonds—were seized as part of wide-ranging sanctions against the country when Russia launched its February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

To date, they have stayed put owing to questions over the legality of unlocking the funds, nerves over the ramifications of unlocking them, and their alternative potential as a bargaining tool in peace talks.

In July last year, the G7 nations agreed on a landmark deal to use the proceeds from the profits of Russia’s frozen assets to fund Ukraine’s defense effort, which helped fund a €50 billion loan to the country, but that is where progress has stopped.

In 2022 the Ukrainian army possessed more tanks and artillery than all European NATO armies combined.

Since then it has been gifted more armored vehicles than existed in Operation Barbarossa.

And Zelensky has been screaming acute weapons shortages for over two years.

But it’s Russia that’s supposed to have suffered staggering losses.

This seems so obvious that this is the right thing to do. My only guess is Trump wants a personal cut of this largesse.

the reality does not match dt rhetoric..go figure

The truth about what Europe and the US paid to save Ukraine from the Russian invasion

According to the Ukraine Support Tracker, European countries have contributed to €132 billion ($138 billion), and committed to sending an additional €115.1 billion ($156 billion). The US on the other hand has contributed less than €120 billion ($128 billion).

    ............
"Europe is loaning the money to Ukraine," said the US president during his Oval Office meeting with Macron, adding that they would be “getting their money back.”

Macron interjected clarifying for those present that European countries have contributed “60 percent of the total effort.” This runs contrary to Trump’s claim that the US has provided much more support than France and other members of the European Union.

Additionally, Macron said Europe had frozen €230 billion ($240 billion) in Russian assets and was waiting to see how the negotiations went to see if these funds could be used for Ukraine to rebuild. For the French leader, Europeans must be represented in the negotiations, and the frozen assets should be used as leverage.

its called a management fee, not a personal cut, and how he has managed to make any money in his lifetime, saddle the project with excess management fees and declare bankruptcy after first paying yourself.

Russia is relying so heavily on North Korea that it's getting 50% of its ammo from Pyongyang, Ukraine's spy chief says

North Korea is providing Russia with half of the ammunition used by Moscow against Ukraine, the head of Kyiv's military intelligence agency said on Sunday.

"They heavily rely on — well, we can now say it — their strategic ally, North Korea, that is covering for practically 50% of Russia's need for munitions," Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine's military intelligence service, told reporters. "Artillery shells, in particular."

Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv, Budanov said Pyongyang was also providing Russia with 155mm self-propelled howitzers and multiple-launch rocket systems. He has previously said that these were the M1989 "Koksan" howitzer and the M1991 system.

mad respect for Europe right now. stepping up and offering alternative deal so dt knows he isn't the only bidder in town.

how I would love for capital to finance the war in return for mineral rights and Ukraine tell the US to bug off. Would the US refuse to sale weapons to US allies knowing they are intended for Ukraine and knee cap US defense industry?

i really hope Z has an emergency and has to delay a visit to DC

Europe undercuts Trump by offering surprise ‘win-win’ minerals deal to Ukraine

The European Union is pushing for its own deal to share Ukraine’s mineral wealth amid reports that Donald Trump and Kyiv could this week sign an agreement to secure US mining rights as part of a peace agreement.

Stephane Sejourne, the bloc’s industry commissioner, quietly pushed Europe’s alternative deal on a visit to Kyiv to mark the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion.

“Twenty-one of the 30 critical materials Europe needs can be provided by Ukraine in a win-win partnership,” the French eurocrat said after a meeting with Ukrainian officials. “The added value Europe offers is that we will never demand a deal that’s not mutually beneficial.

His comments came as Ukrainian officials said they were close to striking a deal with the US over access to Ukraine’s minerals.

we made the best deal ever

    on RAW earths

    this is our leader

US, Ukraine agree to terms on mineral deal, Ukraine says

"And he would like to sign it together with me," he added. "And I understand that's a big deal, a very big deal."

However, later, he said, "We've pretty much negotiated our deal on raw earth."
