No worries, the anger will return in spades if UM boatraces us again in Sept.....particularly if we lose the previous week to LSU.
Honestly, I don't believe that happens. We may not win both games but it will not be like last year vs scUM. LSU? I dunno, they have athletes but our D lit them up and could do it again.
Were you in the Swamp for the last two games or at the bowl game? I ask becausse there was zero apathy at those three events.
When I say apathy, it's not about not showing up to the games (I went to the FSU game cuz I have a buddy with an inside track on free tickets in Tally). What I mean is that the losses don't hurt has bad as they used to since expectations are lower. A loss to LSU or Miami this year is not going to hurt like that loss to Ole Piss with Tebow at the helm.
OK, I get it... I was at the bowl game. It was a lot of fun. I don't agree with your scenario. The undefeated #1 team losing to Ole Miss in the Swamp is a lot different situation than this team losing at LSU or UM. Losing one of them is likely. If UF is 6-0 this year and loses to MS ST in the Swamp. It's going to feel a lot like the Ole Miss loss with Tebow.
Except both of those are road games where Napier's teams have yet to excel. To me, Miami is a must win. (maybe because I lived in Miami at one time and dislike that program so much).
Not close for me. If by some twist of fate UF is 6-0 and loses to the cowbells, I would be disappointed but still reviling in the wins over UM, LSU, A&M and Texas, esp UM. I was at the Ole Miss/Tebow loss and just sat there stunned as that was a NC team. I may be wrong but I dont know anyone that has those expectations for 2025. Just hoping for significant improvement. As for the 2024 bowl game I'm sure those that went had a good time, but I know quite a few Gators that were apathetic about the game.
I understand, it makes sense for you. You’re desperately clinging onto this apathy thing. It’s interesting. If UF is 6-0 in October, the expectation will be there. Then UF loses at home to Miss St., after running the gauntlet, the fan base will be devastated. The Gator fans I know loved the bowl game. It was a great way to end 2024. Of course there was some disinterest in a non championship bowl game. Just like there was with Tebow’s last game; The 2010 Sugar Bowl. I had a few people offering to give me free tickets to the game. I didn't go.
Lowered expectations? Where have I heard that phrase before? Yeah, they look kind of like Junior and Lulu, but hey, we can all be inspired, correct?
We know we have sucked for quite some time though, no need to repeat it. Napier knows he is coaching for his job.
I was at the miami go though. What a waste of money. I was ready for napier to be fired but im glad the boys pulled it together. Watched those good games from the couch.
That was rough... It wasn't until after the A&M game when I thought CBN should go. I'm glad he rebounded and survived.
All these great coaches: Kelly, Kiffin, and Stoops, did they not embarass themselves against us, or is it just that CBN built a team that they and Tulane were not going to beat.
Desperately?? Nah, not desperate at all just reality for me and most Gators I know. Guess we're opposite ends of the spectrum. I was much more interested in Tebow's last game than a minor bowl vs mighty Tulane without their QB.
Than seeing if our team could complete a 4-game win streak to salvage a respectable and totally unexpected 8-5 season — and salvage a solid recruiting class? Yeah you stated it perfectly - we’re at opposite ends of the spectrum. Glad I’m not hanging out with you and “most Gators you know”
You wouldn't get it if there was a map, instruction manual, training video or comic strip to help you.
These posters who complain about not getting enough for their money, apathy, and not being entertained are simply having an identity crisis. They think there fans but their really customers. They should move on to a product they like and stop annoying the rest of us with their whinning.
