Large group of technical experts that joined up hoping to do good and have seen behind the curtain said no thinks, we are out. This isn't right.

DOGE Goons Revolt Against Musk With Wave of Resignations

More than 20 Department of Government Efficiency staffers resigned Tuesday because they no longer agreed with how Elon Musk was running the operation.

The group of 21 staffers said they refused to use their technical expertise to “dismantle critical public services” in a joint resignation letter obtained by the Associated Press.

We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” they wrote. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

The controversial group, credited with being behind the firings of tens of thousands of federal employees, has largely worked in the shadows but enjoyed the full support of Donald Trump. It is unknown how many staffers are in the department, but those identified have skewed young and inexperienced for such critical government work.

Honest question. When did these guys swear to uphold the constitution? I thought this wasn't an official govt agency and Musk is in charge but then he isn't, but now he is again.

Um....who are these people and what "oaths" did they take and what are they talking about "across administrations"?

Technically, in an attempt to make it legal, they "converted" an existing office (US Digital Service) into DOGE. It used to be a boring organization that did things like analyze government websites and other digital technologies and increase their efficiency and stability. It was formed after the meltdown of the Healthcare.gov website in 2013. Of course, that sort of efficiency isn't needed any longer. Now we need social media content about condoms in Gaza or turning $8 million contracts into $8 billion contracts and the like.

I think these were existing USDS employees.

Oh, you mean the 21 Obama appointees to the United States Digital Service, which Obama established.
    More fake headlines.

Maybe in the name of efficiency they fired themselves to save money and benefits.

Personnel of USDS are not civil service appointees, but we understand Pubs aversion to facts. Also : "Employees at USDS have fewer protections than traditional civil servants, as they're members of the “excepted service” brought in for term appointments that last from two to four years, said Jenny Mattingley, Vice President of Government Affairs at the nonprofit, nonpartisan Partnership for Public Service."
As such it would be the felon's failure (as per always) to have not appointed his own from his 1st term.

Thanks AI. Appointee - Employee, whatever. They were Obama picks from Silicon Valley and are now leaving because they weren't interested in cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. What were they doing all these years?

The staffers who resigned worked for what was once known as the United States Digital Service, an office established during President Barack Obama's administration after the botched rollout of Healthcare.gov, the web portal that millions of Americans use to sign up for insurance plans through the Democrat's signature health care law.

All had previously held senior roles at such tech companies as Google and Amazon and wrote in their resignation letter that they joined the government out of a sense of duty to public service.
Federal technology staffers resign rather than help Musk and DOGE

Wasting your time. There are still a couple posters worth talking to but most are just in full tilt. I will give iboy credit. Actually had a reasonable discussion with him while sifting thru blind rage posts on another thread.
