More than a week after devastating flooding in WV has occurred and FEMA is MIA awaiting Trump’s approval for aid.

Where are the right wingers who were scurrying all around the internet while FEMA actually helped in NC under Biden but remain silent while FEMA does nothing under Trump? What is wrong with people?

Will DOGE affect the FEMA response in WV?

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – West Virginia is still waiting on approval from the federal government for an emergency disaster declaration filed by Gov. Patrick Morrisey (R-WV) earlier this week.

This comes after President Trump has outwardly spoken about potentially dismantling FEMA altogether, something that Gov. Morrisey said he would not be getting into during a press briefing on Thursday.

“Right now, my focus is on helping as many West Virginians in need. That’s what we’re doing, and so I think that the FEMA people have been very collaborative and they’re helping us as we’re going through to identify the specific needs in various counties,” Morrisey said. “I’m not going to get caught up on that. I’m laser-focused on this issue, the people that are affected by the flood.”

Feel sorry for these folks. No excuse for this in the US. Elect a clown, better expect a circus.

West Virginia is even a red state, with an R governor, who, even in the face of calamity, is still covering for Trump.

They voted against FEMA help. Why should we expect Trump to respond?

22 dead, waterlogged, freezing..FEMA trickling in, likely severely understaffed, poorly supplied and thoroughly demoralized wondering if they have to list 5 things for king musk and the muskettes lest they lose their heads

poor man froze to death with no aid.

think they could use those tens of millions spent for dt to attend a couple of sporting events and make everyone kiss the ring?

do people in Kentucky not matter or did Beshear piss him off so let them suffer?

Kentucky flooding, extreme weather death toll rises ahead of FEMA tour

The death toll from widespread flooding and extreme weather that battered Kentucky earlier this month has increased to 22, officials announced Monday.

The latest confirmed death is a man who died of hypothermia in Marshall County, located in southwestern Kentucky, Gov. Andy Beshear said during a Monday morning update. The announcement follows six additional deaths that were reported over the weekend, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal, part of the USA TODAY Network.

"This has been a painful, difficult disaster," Beshear said Monday. "There aren't many natural disasters where we lose 22 people. After the widespread flooding in 2022 and the tornadoes in 2021, this is one of the most deadly disasters certainly since I've been governor."

Decisions have consequences. Horrible that these people learned that lesson only at the end of their lives.

@gatorbill started the thread on NC below and suddenly isn’t concerned about FEMA helping Americans. But it wasn’t just Bill. All the right wing regulars were in that thread lying about FEMA delays and they shut up totally now. Unconscionable. All of them care more about Trump allegiance than Americans.

    What about NC Joe

They're very busy right now being concerned with the thread about the border crosser who later committed a crime in Mexico.

And there might be a dangerous transsexual somewhere who needs policing.

Give it time. Trump will very likely issue disaster relief.

LOL. The inconvenience of time is suddenly of low-level importance. Could have fooled me based on the previous link responses.

Appears most MAGA posters here are just own the libs voters. I am struggling to see any substantive policy discussion. Hopefully will see it once Congress moves on their budget bill.

Maybe, but how is it not declared an emergency yet. Doesn’t this typically happen right away?

Usually the “political” discussions come later when they need disaster relief outside FEMA budget, and it’s sad any American would politicize that in any way whatsoever.

Everything is transactional. I’m sure there is an arm twist about Mitch’s votes for Trump’s policy choices and senate support.

North Carolina is not a lock. Trump has to dog and pony about that state to rustle up votes.

Kentucky and West Virginia are in the tank. No leverage. Too bad.

"Hold your breath", might get a roll of paper towels thrown that way in March or so.

Definitely an odd rating from 95 for a story on 3 WV deaths and 22 KY deaths.
