Some radio hack who said nice things about Trump on his podcast?

Awesome that that's all it takes to get nominated by Felony Don .... ..... and to be considered a good pick by the cult.

    Hilarious. 'Murica.

Bongino, buffoon that he is, might actually be the most qualified appointment that Trump has made so far. At least he has spent 12 years as a Secret Service Agent - despite grossly over exaggerating his role at the agency, at least he has been trained in law enforcement.

This is probably why Trump selected Bongino.
In 2019, Bongino published Exonerated: The Failed Takedown of President Donald Trump by the Swamp. It was on The New York Times Best Seller list with a dagger (the NYT Bestseller list version of an asterisk) indicating the book benefitted from bulk sales.[16] In August 2020, he denied that his book benefited from bulk sales, maintaining the only event at which books were bought in bulk took place over a month after his book appeared on the list.[17]

Bongino has been a radio host and commentator on local and national radio programs. He has been a guest host for both the Sean Hannity and Mark Levin radio shows, and sometimes fills in on WMAL-FM talk radio in Washington, D.C. and WBAL in Baltimore. He was a paid contributor to NRATV until December 2018.[18][19][20]

He has frequently appeared on Fox News' opinion programming and on the conspiracy theory website InfoWars.[4] He guest hosted Hannity's Fox News show in December 2018.[21]

Calls for a “Meritocracy” have dropped from the playbook. It was always a sham.

What merit based criteria was used for this pick? The answer is the merit metric depends on the person making the decision. In this case it has nothing to do with technical skills to do the job. It is 100% fealty.

Ironically, the main qualification is probably “willingness to break the law”.

Not sure. Briefly skimming Project2025, it appears that the goal is to align the FBI squarely within the DOJ apparatus by eliminating FBI legal counsel and moving agents to field offices to cull some perceived liberal bias. Certainly sounds like Kash and Dan are do boys to achieve that goal. Ultimately the FBI will become a political arm of the DOJ AG. The “law” is up to citizens to sue the crap out of the FBI, go to a MAGA-faithful judge and then set a new case law precedent and wipe away the past decisions.

True, but they're all eminently bitchable. A greater cadre of inexperienced and unqualified candidates has never been assembled. It's like Trump went out of his way to nominate Molotov candidates, because he's a controversy succubus.

For most things, I’d agree. For the FBI—the agency in charge of such little things like the Country’s security, including counter-espionage — which means vetting and eliminating spy networks and terror networks missioned with decimating things such as our power grid—networks which can take years to seed and grow — I feel like we don’t have the luxury of “fixing mistakes” by elections.
