Bernie is too far left for my taste as a presidential candidate. However, he is a shrewd politician and he knows what he is talking about more often than not (which is more than I can say for most other Sens and House Reps). Bernie is currently out attacking Trump/Musk where it will matter...in Republican states. Mark Cuban (@mcuban.bsky.social)
A lot of Sanders supporters ended up voting for Trump. Sanders understands the problems Americans have and knows how to speak their language, but his ideas on how to solve those problems are sometimes a little screwy when you get into the details. Trump solutions are immoral, unAmerican, illegal, or just plain evil.
Not really. I don't believe that there is a single Republican smart enough to question Trump, but I hold out faith that there might be one or two out there who still has a functioning brain.
I don't think that most Republican politicians are stupid although some fit that description Tommy Tuberville immediately coming to mind. The problem is that they're so afraid of being primaried by Trump with a little help from Elon Musk that they've been metaphorically castrated and have become political eunuchs.
I think the point (who you are responding to) is that very few of Trump voters are disillusioned after a month. Very few will question their vote in 20 months. They have a faith of a country in their image although it will go through pain. Those town halls are likely not MAGA voters.
I’d assume that is mostly true, nevertheless those people are their constituents whether they voted for them or not. I think a few of those town halls were in locations where they had specific local effects (job losses), so could be a few “leopards ate my face” people sprinkled in there. Maybe not MAGA cultists, but people who don’t pay attention. Some only get angry when it affects them personally, apparently.
All these things could be true. Town halls are meaningless without a statistical accurate make up of the district. To me, it is just theater. But, I do applaud Bernie for trying to
Yeah, I'm sure Bernie Sanders and his whako ultra liberal/socialist positions are exactly what "disillusioned Trump voters" are longing for after just one month of Trump doing what most Trump voters wanted.
Bernie is a populist socialist. Trump is a populist socialist. Both are leftists who want to restrict trade. Change my mind.
