Okay, this tackle has nothing to do with the head and neck area of the recipient, and this ridiculous rule or interpretation of the rules needs to be changed. This is still tackle football, and tackling incidentally with the crown of the helmet, or collision to a body part other than the head and neck area of the ball carrier should NOT be ruled a penalty... So does my wife but if she throws a flag and makes me back up 15 yards it is at her own risk if I can get a running start.
If butt targeting doesn't make the list, I shudder to think what type of behavior is required to do so.
The worst penalties were usually the ones that cost one team the game. I can understand that. If our butt-targeting penalty had cost us the game that would most certainly be the worst call of the year.
