Just wow.. I think this lends credence to the notion that these jobs don't turn people in to psychopaths, psychopaths choose these jobs. I'm not saying that everyone in blue are depraved, sadistic individuals. Far from it. I'm just saying that these jobs attract these kind of people.

Over a dozen people watched or assisted in this. A dozen. No body cams were turned on. All footage is taken while the cams were in standby mode. This is how they act when they think they aren't being recorded. Then they tried to cover it up. This is the third beating of the inmate that day.

I saw these videos when they were released and have been waiting for indictments and they are starting to come in.

Robert Brooks died the next day, so there is no death in this video. Pay attention to how many officers tried to stop the beating.....

UTICA, N.Y. (AP) — Six New York prison guards have been indicted for second-degree murder in the beating death of a handcuffed inmate, a brutal incident captured on body-worn cameras that triggered widespread outrage and calls for justice.

Four other corrections workers were charged with lesser crimes in the December death of Robert Brooks at Marcy Correctional Facility in an indictment unsealed Thursday.

The video shows officers pummeling Brooks, whose hands are cuffed behind his back. Officers strike him in the chest with a shoe and lift him by the neck and drop him. The video recorded on the night of Dec. 9 has no sound, but the guards meting out the punishment and watching it appear unconcerned. Brooks, 43, died the next day.

Brooks died of a “massive beating” that broke a bone in his neck, ripped his thyroid cartilage and bruised several internal organs. He also died as a result of repeated restrictions to his airways, which caused brain damage, and choking on his own blood, Fitzpatrick said.

Corrupt culture leads to incidents like this. I wonder what the defense of these murderers will be?

So instead of the guy having his day in court to face charges, these scumbags decided to be judge, jury, and executioner. Gen. pop for life.

This reminds me of what happened to American journalist Gonzalo Lira when he was beaten in a Ukrainian jail. He could have been released with 1 phone call from the Biden administration. But the Biden administration wanted Gonzalo dead.

Not a single Too Hot Democrat has objected to Lira's murder (he eventually died of pneumonia "they say")

Brooks was evidently a criminal. Lira was a brave man reporting truth from Ukraine (what the liberals call "Russian propaganda").

So spare me your selective outrage

The incident occurred at a NY state prison. If the correctional officers worked at a federal facility and especially if the victim was a migrant awaiting deportation, Trump would have probably peremptorily pardoned the correctional officers.

There's another one out there, with video, that I never posted. Can you imagine a Dez Watson-sized man kneeling on your chest with all his weight? The inmate died.

How is it that the criminal justice system hires so many people that exhibit criminal behavior? And why is the punishment usually less, not more, than your everyday offender gets?

Ugly - read through the comments did not watch video.

If as described they deserve the harshest punishment available. Gen pop is okay with me.

Evil exists. Not all evil is political and not all politics is evil. To the Gumby crowd who continue to stretch and stretch everything into an “Orange man BAD” perspective start charging POTUS for living in…and controlling your heads.

NY prison guards may have beaten another inmate to death, just 3 months after the above incident happened, which was also in NY. In fact, these two facilities are less than a mile from each other.

15 employees have been put on leave.

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/03/us/n...investigating-prison-inmates-death/index.html

Messiah Nantwi, a 22-year-old inmate at Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy, died at a hospital, state police said Monday. Although authorities have not said what led to or caused the death, The New York Times reported that nine prisoners – seven of whom agreed to use their names – said in interviews the inmate had been brutally beaten by corrections officers at Mid-State.

Fifteen staff members have been placed on leave in connection with the death, Hochul said Tuesday. Eleven were placed on leave initially, according to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

“While the investigation into this incident is ongoing, early reports point to extremely disturbing conduct leading to Mr. Nantwi’s death and I am committed to accountability for all involved. The people of New York extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Nantwi’s family and loved ones,” Hochul said in a release Tuesday.

Nantwi’s death came nearly three months after state inmate Robert Brooks, a 43-year-old Black man, died after what authorities said was a December beating by correctional officers at a different prison in Marcy, less than a mile from Mid-State.
