I don't have a hard time grasping anything. I just understand I'm not in the position to exact any consequences, so I don't spend a lot of time dreaming about holding people accountable when I know I will not actually be doing anything more than you will. I'm having a direct conversation with you about your actions. It's possible, I could actually have some affect on this situation. Small possibility, but at least I'm talking to the guy who can make that decision. You're screaming at the sky about things you will never have any influence over and nobody that matters is listening to you. You have pretty much 0% chance of inflicting the changes you hope for and you're not even close to talking to the right people about it.
So 244 you come into the thread with your "All American" credentials, spitting Napier hate and invective toward numerous regulars, most of whom have tens of thousands of posts, bringing your wisdom that Napier supporters, and by implication, UF and Gator fans that support his program, are stupid and undeserving of an opinion. Congratulations on your erudite Gator Nation posting. Nothing like a troll that uses the "If UF ain't 11-1 they ain't shit argument". The standard fallback for posting losers that come to a board to start trouble. Or do we mark you up as just another dumb ass FSU or Miami Sophmore (TROLL) come to get a few licks in during the off season. Yeah.............
To be the prick that I am, I honestly find the power pumpers/Disney gators to be more insulting and nasty than posters that aren't overly positive.
Well I may be part of that clique, the only defense I have is that I actually like the Gators and attended UF. Honestly I respect your posting position Marine, you have been steady but reasonably muted with your critique of Napier during his UF term. I will repeat what I have often posted: Napier has earned criticism, but the paycheck signers decided to keep him for 2025. All the bellyaching in the world will not change that fact, at least not until after a few games to gauge performance. So I do what I do - Cheer for what is ahead for UF and let the cards land where they may. Critics may be absolutely right, Napier may have been a hiring mistake and a waste of 4 years. - OR - - OR - Year 4 just may be the bust out year Gator fans have been waiting for. I don't know,.......... but what I do know, as someone that populates and participates on this board, is it's very irritating, to watch the drive by troll assassins come in and, fire a dozen broad sides, nay-say, criticize and go heavy negative. Usually it's not in good faith, usually it's just trolling by other fan bases. UF does have a number of positives going it's way headed into 25, anyone that can't see that is full of "it", and IMO, a fair fan base should look in both directions, not just the "bad directions".
I don’t subscribe to the post count = wisdom mindset. High post count doesn’t really say anything to me other than that person has a lot of free time. I chuckle at the folks who wear it as a badge and are concerned about keeping their numbers when the site does its purges.
It's like politics, the majority of the population doesn't give a crap, but those that do are the ones that go online and argue that their opinion/side is better. A majority of gator nation doesn't care, but those of us that do are going to be on football forums discussing it. Sure some are overly negative, but anyone talking gator sports is a fan IMO. Just because one slants more positive or went to UF does not make them a better fan. I think the critical posters care just as much as the positive posters. Some see the positives, some see the negatives. I don't think we should jump down every critical post and scare off any lurkers/new posters. The more the better IMO. I don't think Napier will achieve much at UF. I think he's a good coach, I don't think he's a great coach. I have three degrees from UF. Am I less of a fan?
Of course not, but UF fans have choices. If coming to this site is nothing but a hate fest toward UF and it's coaches, I will simply move on to the many other UF fan sites available to me. It's up to the mods and the ownership to decide what is acceptable, certainly not me, but if this site becomes intolerable to my tastes, I will take my fandom and posting practices to a site that is more of a fit. Turning the site into an anti UF troll house is not for me.
I don't think GC will ever slant negative. You just gotta ignore the one's you think are trolls. Hell I ignore some of pumpers because some are just looking for an argument and lack a sense of humor.
