Ok, so you don't have an issue with the study showing that Repubs had a higher death rate than Dems, just with level of the difference in death rates.

I’ll try again to state what I said on the first page of this. None of the charts are in the stratosphere of what this guys main claim was.

Seems pretty plausible. The vaccine reduced chance of death 80-90% in its worst phases. Republicans were probably 60% vaccinated, Democrats 80-90% (those are guesses). You probably had 2 to 4 times as many unvaccinated republicans than dems. You could grind through the math but 40% more republican deaths (age adjusted) seems very plausible given those parameters.

Total of all age adjusted after the vaccine was about an avg of 7 percent difference pubs to dems. That’s based on two states. Ohio total pub difference was about that Florida was about one. It doesn’t show Florida and Ohio after vaccine availability, only total. Which I found a bit odd why they didn’t show that. My guess would be Ohio was Probly a lot more than Florida and they went heavy on Ohio numbers.

    Look at it this way

democrat deaths -80% vax rate, 80% death reduction of vax

    20+80*.2=36

    Republican deaths

60% vax rate, 80% vax death reduction.

    40+60*.2=52

    52-36=16

    16/36=44% higher death rate.

I see your math and hypothetically that works. It’s just not in line with the numbers the guy put in his article

On the first page of this you were talking about Repubs tending to be older than Dems. Then it was explained to you that the study controls for age.

so essentially they are making a bunch of assumptions based on the county they lived in and admittedly those counties had higher death rates pre covid.

I said that’s the only way it could even be close to that 43 percent is if it was total numbers. Because many more pubs in the 60 plus age range

This also looks to assume100 percent death rate on non vaxed or am I looking at that wrong?

And we told you they're looking at age-adjusted death rates, not total number of deaths. Based on the basic numbers I_boy presented, it seems like the rate could be 43% higher for repubs than dems. Or it could be a little less. Either way, I don't think anyone should be surprised that Repubs had a higher death rate than Dems.

All of the graphs I saw seemed consistent with these numbers. I don’t know what numbers or graphs you are looking at.

Not really it is just saying for one non vaccinated death, you will have .2 vaccinated deaths. If nobody were vaccinated you would have 100 deaths. Republicans have 52 deaths (compared to 100). Democrats have 36 deaths compared to 100.

I’m not sure what to make of that one graph. It has before and after vaccination in it. When it says excess death 7% more post vaccine I’m not sure what the means. However think the percent is based on total deaths. So democrats could be 25% and republicans 32% (I just made those up) and then republicans would be approx 25% higher excess deaths.
