The No.2 Florida Gators defeated LSU 79-65 behind a dominant second half where Todd Golden’s squad outscored the Tigers by 20 points. Rueben Chinyelu’s career-high 19 points led the Gators’ attack, and the big man also grabbed 13 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Thomas Haugh also notched his third double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) of the 2024/25 season. Five Gators went for double figures in the contest (Martin, Haugh, Clayton Jr., Chinyelu, Aberdeen).

Florida had a season-low five turnovers and have just 11 turnovers over the last two games. Over the current six-game winning streak, Florida is averaging 11.7 3-pointers and 18.3 assists per game.

Head coach Todd Golden, sophomore center Rueben Chineylu, and sophomore forward Thomas Haugh met with the media postgame to discuss Florida’s road victory vs LSU.

This may be the finest summary of a game in any post game discussion I’ve ever seen; I especially liked when he said “worked on things not requiring talent” and we “imposed our will” in second half. Great coach!
I attended the game, first time in Baton Rouge. I was surprised by BR and the LSU campus. Both were depressing (but again, it’s winter) for many reasons. BR appears run down, under disrepair and just kind of trashy.
I walked the campus and it’s horribly layed out. Tiger Stadium is plunked down in a very congested area, can’t imagine the crowd at games. Most campus buildings I saw are an ugly brown stucco, not much brick like UF.
My seat at Maravich Center was like sitting on a Little Tikes car; this place needs a serious refurbish. Maybe what I saw is a microcosm of the state of La. I know LSU is a good school and the people are very friendly and unpretentious. I feel fortunate to have attended UF - it IS special.
Lastly, the halftime show by Lizzie Dunn was amazing. She was spinning about 10 hoola hoops with her legs, torso and over her head while standing on a huge ball!
I can’t wait to return to the Sunshine State!

I almost feel sorry for some folks who have to live here. I know many love it and would never live anywhere else.
I’ll say going from Fla to La may be quite different from La to Fla.
    Just my opinion.

I actually love the swamp and the coast. I would live there. That doesn’t make it less of a run down, nasty, old shit hole. The old towns don’t really have a historic, southern vibe with a unique charm. They’re just gross and run down slums. I have never understood the appeal of new orleans. I avoid that place like the plague.

I 100% agree with you except for the living here part. It’s depressing to us.
They should change The Pelican State motto to “Land of Ditches.”
I hope the US didn’t pay much for the Louisiana Purchase, like over, say $12.50!

I could live in the swamp or on the coast. I probably wouldn’t want to live anywhere there if I was working. Just if I had the money to live in the woods or on the water and want for nothing.

Well then, La is your place PiF! Every home in Covington/Mandeville is waterfront! Home values are of course based on width and depth of the ditch in front of every house.
