Can I ask where the graft is here? I’m not saying there isn’t any, because I don’t know. But it’s really easy to claim every dollar is graft, waste, fraud, etc, if you never have to show how.

This is a very misleading thread. For those interested in understanding how the law was written and how the funding and grant awards work… here, is more information:

“Last April, the Biden EPA said the organizations would oversee the awarding of grants to groups and communities for projects ranging from home energy retrofitting to off-grid renewable energy in communities that have lacked access to green financing.
As part of the actions authorized by the Inflation Reduction Act and bipartisan infrastructure bill, the aim was to kickstart projects over the next seven years to reduce or avoid up to 40 million metric tons of climate pollution annually.

There is no savings. The EPA has to faithfully execute the law. The issue, which I agree was an end-around, is the parking of the funds, so they pushed the funding dollars out so it wouldn’t get frozen in the Treasury dept? I think that is really the problem. IMO, what is odd is that the energy communities may be in red states.

Lots of graft in agriculture, especially citrus. Need to eliminate that.

So these are funds approved by Congress and then by the president, which happens to be how our government works.
But Trump’s team is acting they’re uncovering this secret slush fund that no one knew anything about?

Just like clockwork the habitual low credibility poster doesn't bother to verify his known low info, biased source, but starts a thread by stating a false statement.... this happens repeatedly and likely should be reported to a mod for trolling.

Let me know if you can find one. Mods have been scarce lately. Hoping Elon doesn’t notice them, I suspect.

What is it about clean air and water that makes conservatives as cranky as a teenage girl with PMS? If it’s fraud and waste then why does the new chief want to keep it? These MAGA folks certainly are a dazed and confused bunch. Oh, and by the way the Trump administration can’t touch it anyway since it was Congress who approved it.

Just a guess but when there is thorough review of $20 billion it will turn out that the Biden Administration did nothing illegally. Just a guess like other allegations of fraud and waste levied against the Biden Administration by Elon's DOGE boys this could turn out to be another case of allegations based on misunderstanding and ignorance.
The $20 Billion Controversy Over E.P.A. Climate Funds, Explained
The fate of $20 billion in federal climate funding that was legally committed months before the election has been thrown into question after a weeklong controversy involving “gold bars,” the right-wing group Project Veritas and two federal agencies.

Now, more than 200 planned investments intended to help finance clean energy and environmental projects in underserved communities may be at risk.

The money was “green bank” funding from the E.P.A.’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, which received $27 billion under the Biden-era 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. Funds were held in Citibank accounts under the names of eight nonprofit grantees, which were planning to send it to other green banks and loan it out for climate projects.

It's a slush fund only because it's legally obligated to fund projects with which the anti-environmental Trump Administration and its supporters disagree.
