You guys are missing the point. It isn't that Musk and Bannon raised their arm above their waist. It's that their stated political beliefs, their actions and their speeches, make concluding that it's a specific salute not unreasonable.

 

I have no idea what your problem is with me, but if you think I’m going to be the silent little homemaker who keeps her opinions to herself, waits on the men, and bakes cookies for the church social just so you’ll think better of me then you can forget it.

And the rest of your post is ignorance. I'm married to an amazing, educated, strong willed woman. We are raising/raised two strong (quite liberal actually) young adult daughters. Nothing about what you said resembles my view on women.

On Sunday, the CEO of Engineering Structures Inc. (ESI) issued a new statement apologizing for offensive gestures made during a company-wide event at the Boise Centre.

In that statement, Hill acknowledges that the gestures in question were indeed Nazi salutes. "I now fully recognize that this gesture is not only inappropriate but also profoundly hurtful," he said via a written statement on company letterhead. On the one hand, I admire his honesty. “Yes that was a Nazi salute!”

On the other hand, WTF is this guy thinking? He wants us to believe he jest learned of the evils of Nazism… yesterday?

It can only have a “sorry if my Nazi salute offended anybody” air to it. That’s why most of ‘em just lie or claim they were joking.
