Elon lies about the situation with Suni and Butch and gets called out on his lies by a former International Space Station commander. Elon’s response? Marginally better than when falsely accused the cave diver of being a pedophile. Idiot: Elon Musk feuds with astronaut over Sunita Williams' return from space Mogensen, 48, shared a clip on X of a joint interview to Fox News by Musk and Trump, in which the SpaceX CEO alleged that Williams and Bilmore - who have been aboard the ISS for nearly 300 days - were abandoned by Biden due to "political reasons". "What a lie. And from someone who complains about lack of honesty from the mainstream media," Mogensen wrote on the social media platform. Musk countered by calling the ex-ISS commander an "idiot". "You are fully retarded. SpaceX could have brought them back several months ago. I OFFERED THIS DIRECTLY to the Biden administration and they refused. Return WAS pushed back for political reasons. Idiot," the tech billionaire replied. "Elon, I have long admired you and what you have accomplished, especially at SpaceX and Tesla. You know as well as I do, that Butch and Suni are returning with Crew-9, as has been the plan since last September. Even now, you are not sending up a rescue ship to bring them home. They are returning on the Dragon capsule that has been on ISS since last September,"
The what did you do last week email is pure gold. I hope a lot of them try to play it tough, and don’t respond.
Then we have two shit companies contracting with the USG, instead of one. Boeings issues stem from the McDonnell Douglas merger in the 90’s. MD had an awful culture and it took over Boeing, which at the time was a great, great company. This merger is like the AA/USAir merger a few years ago where AA just dropped to USAirs level of service. Shady contracting, technical shortcuts, and outright incompetence have plagued Boeing for years. I would say leave military and space together. Their commercial side will be the easiest to fix. There truly aren’t enough great aerospace executives around to fix three screwed up Boeing companies.
I’m not understanding what the big deal is that has everyone so upset. Here are the points: * NASA and Biden didn’t strand the astronauts in space, Boeing did because of their faulty equipment. So much for privatization. * The plan to retrieve them was in place well before Trump took office, but of course he wants to take full credit. * They are holding off until March to bring the new crew to the station so they won’t be shorthanded. Of course Trump and Musk knew this, and is taking the opportunity to make people believe what was already in place is something they’re doing on the fly. Everyone knows that’s just what they do.
Something clearly has to be done. Pride aside, this is an important company both historically and currently that needs to stay alive, but in the right way, not just propping it up. They need to figure out a way to reinject some dynamism into the company again. Smaller always seems better in that respect.
Worked well for GE. I was buying GE like mad at 6-7$. The spin off has been just gold. Have BA if it does spin-offs and has the same returns as GE I’m good with that.
My understanding was when they spun of Spirit Aerosystems to lower costs it set the stage for issues with reliability in production Hence them bring in back under direct control. I may have a simplistic understanding.
There's some truth to that, especially the first go around. But, I'm just not seeing it anymore from those folks. MAGA seems to have a monopoly on the outrage angling these days. Key question is how long they plan on leaning on that crutch, and how long will people let them get away with it?
https://www.financialexpress.com/wo...layed-his-and-sunita-williams-return/3769302/ ‘I believe him,’ Wilmore agrees with Elon’s claim that Biden delayed his and Sunita Williams’ return During an in-orbit media interaction, a Washington Post reporter asked Wilmore whether Musk’s claim— that his offer to send a SpaceX Dragon capsule was denied— was accurate. Wilmore responded, “I can only say that Mr. Musk, what he says is absolutely factual.”
You lose more credibility with each of these posts where you don’t do even a modicum of research. Butch was saying he believes Elon that the offer was made, not why it wasn’t accepted or that they felt like it was due to politics. In fact he explicitly said he doesn’t think it was politics and that he doesn’t have any knowledge of the actual discussions. My interpretation is that he doesn’t want to be caught in the middle of the wild claims by the admin and Musk since he’s reliant on them. Full questions and answers that you’re twisting: Q. Did politics influence NASA's decision for you to stay longer in space? Wilmore: From my standpoint, politics is not playing into this at all. From our standpoint, I think that they would agree, we came up prepared to stay long, even though we plan to stay short. That's what we do in human spaceflight. That's what your nation's human space flight program is all about, planning for unknown, unexpected contingencies. And we did that, and that's why we flowed right into Crew 9, into Expedition 72 as we did. And it was somewhat of a seamless transition, because we had planned ahead for it, and we were prepared. Q. Elon Musk said he made an offer to bring Butch and Suni home last year, but it was denied by the White House. Is this true? Wilmore: I can only say that Mr. Musk, what he says, is absolutely factual. We have no information on that, though, whatsoever; what was offered, what was not offered; who it was offered to, how that process went. That's information that we simply don't have. So I believe him. I don't know all those details, and I don't think any of us really can give you the answer that maybe that you would be hoping for. Butch Wilmore says Elon Musk is “absolutely factual” on Dragon’s delayed return
According to this, there delayed return was caused by Space X’s delay in delivering their replacements…. “Their homecoming was further delayed by extra completion time needed for the brand new SpaceX capsule that was supposed to deliver their replacements. They are now waiting for them to arrive at the ISS next week before they can check out later this month.” Stranded Nasa astronauts to finally return to Earth after nine months in space
Let Musk rescue the astronauts that Biden and Boeing left stranded and then deport him to South Africa ?
