(SB) OGT: Sun Devil/GCU Classic February 21-23 in Tempe/Phoenix, Arizona

As far as Red, which team do you all think Coach Walton should start her against? Both games seem logical to give her the start. You can start her against an okay NM State and ease her back or give her the start against a good GCU team. I am pretty sure it will be packed house against GCU. Personally, I would start her against GCU. Tim has a history of throwing his freshman into a hostile environment right away.

 

Or he could split the difference and start her against Iowa State tomorrow. Iowa State beat New Mexico State and lost to Grand Canyon.

 

Just a word of caution. It is my understanding Red has only been throwing for a week since November. Has to be a lot of rust. I assume she will also be on a pitch count. She is going to be very, very, good but it might not be today.

 

Agreed but apparently our radio crew was also critical and, I've gotta say, that takes a lot of absolutely no self-analysis.

 

Crap. There is overlap of five games around our 6:00 game. Tennessee plays Arizona at 5:00. A&M plays the second game of a doubleheader against FSU around 5:30. Arky plays UCLA around 6:00. Our game at 6:00. UF basketball at LSU at 6:00. I'm used to cranking up three games at the same time but this is pushing the limit.

 

A&M and FSU 3-3 and going to the eighth.

 

I hope Red throws the second game so we can see her. For those that have never seen her pitch, she is a piece of work in the circle. She has a lot of Jordy Bahl in her but she doesn't strut around as much as Bahl. Red controls the circle and I think she truly believes nobody can hit her.

 

A&M up 6-3 in top of 8 and still batting.

Just an FYI - It seems as if the start time for the Gators first game is 6 pm Mountain time. Arizona State is getting ready to play Portland St and their lineup were just posted. So that means our first game is at 8 ET, 2nd game 10:30 or so ET.

 

FSU goes down in the first game.
