While this is the exact opposite of the conventional wisdom and considering that it represents a complete reversal of a trend in voting behavior going back to the midterm elections of 2018, I'm predicting that Trump will have done so much damage to the economy in less than two years in office that never Trumpers could end up defeating candidates endorsed by the Emperor of Mar-a-Lago in Republican primaries.
Trump's polling is already starting to head south, as people see him doing little to control inflation while insanely attempting to grab power. The good news for him is that he is doing better than the first time around. In 2017, Trump was the first president to start a presidential term with a negative approval rating (he currently has a 52% disapproval rating). https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/20/politics/cnn-poll-trump-approval/index.html
More polls show Trump crashing and burning. Doesn't bother Trump however: he makes up his own polls. Trump is now described as "delusional". Only 14% supported his decision to pardon the J6 terrorists--imagine that? 'Delusional' Trump Openly Mocked As His Newest Boast Backfires Spectacularly
I used to feel that there was no way they would go full MAGA again after J6 and the documents case. people are dumber than I thought
funny, when clinton was in office I was a hard rightie. some of us call it like it is, you should abandon your cult, get some professional deprogramming, and try it sometime. A mind is a terrible thing to waste
I have always registered for the party with the real primaries. In downtown Atlanta I registered democratic in Florida I register republican. Local elections are where real democracy happens. Where I live in DeLand the republicans are trying to out Trump each other and the dems are trying to be centrist. There is a special election April 1st. I think whether we have elections in the future is on the ballot.
never said that. said joe needed to get out early and kamala was a terrible candidate. her and hillary both forced upon the country by the dem elitists and both times it gave us this sorry excuse for a human as potus. you keep getting me confused with someone who has a team here. some of us actually care about the country, not the team
No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the average American. I think it’s Mencken but in the past I thought it was Barnum.
the one that wants best for the country? didn't like Biden or Kamala, despise MAGA. can you find me a team please? Maybe put Kasich. Hogan, Whitmer, Kinzinger, Romney types on it please
The two party system is not especially bad, except when the republicans (the party of lesser educated, elderly, and racist/misogynistic Americans, with all due respect) fall for a con-man. This past presidential election should have been fairly easy for Harris to win. She was badly advised, and she managed to neglect the working poor, which represent at least 6% of the population. By failing to come up with a specific plan to do something for them like raise minimum wage, she flipped off a large enough segment of the population to lose the election. This is a traditional democratic platform item, and she neglected it. It failed in the past because clueless people like AOC were demanding that minimum wage be jacked up to $15/yr overnight.
