So now Democratic Sen. Blumenthal regrets voting to confirming VA Secretary Doug Collins because Collins lied to him and now won’t return his calls. Excuse me Senator, but didn’t you realize this is a Trump pick, a raging MAGA, and now you’re surprised and outraged he’s doing exactly what he promised you he wouldn’t do? Well, no tears for me if I never heard the name Blumenthal again. But odd to shift the blame this way. This is classic D thinking. A maniac comes in and does predictably maniac things and D’s fire themselves. He was confirmed 77-23. You may have noticed that they have enough votes to get even the craziest and most corrupted through — Hegseth, Patel, RFK, Triple H I mean McMahon, Tulsi, etc. I agree that if Blumenthal truly expected integrity from Collins then he is likely an idiot. But it is an intriguing idea to try to win by forfeiting.

Ha, see how well the forfeit strategy works! Collins indiscriminately fires 1000 VA workers, upends crisis hotlines and other vet services, and the blame lands squarely where it belongs: a D Senator who wasn’t even needed to confirm the victim/perpetrator! D playbook, it’s a complex system!
Seeing the name Collins just reminds me of Senator Collins of Maine who believed what Kavanaugh and Gorsuch told her then later said they lied to her when on the Court they did just the opposite. Hearings are pretty much a waste of time these days as nominees regularly lie to get the job, just theatre for the media.
