Even healthy we have underperformed...now it gets eeal tough with 2 more athletes out. I dont think a 16 year old is the answer unfortunately...lots of pressure on her now

This team is not winning any championships this year. And to think I picked this year to go to SEC championships in Birmingham . We won’t make the evening session.

Gonna say it and don't care about the criticism....said it before as well. We are better off playing freshman and sophomores for experience towards the future. And my post can get edited again This team will be lucky to host a first round playoff which is supposed to be a given for this program.

Agree...this year is over. No chance at winning this year, especially with tonight's injuries.

Feel really bad for Leanne (and Trinity) not getting it done in 4 years...we'll miss her greatly next year.

Next year with Kayla and Skye at full strength and with Selena coming back, we should have a really good chance to win it all next year.

Has anyone here ever heard of the actual science of sports psychology?

Unfortunately it is starting to look like CJR is becoming the CMW of gymnastics. Just can't reach the pinnacle of the sport.

It seems the same things were said about Rhonda until they didn’t. Most years we are way up there competing for the trophies. I think it’s foolish to discount that.

I understand your frustration, but this is not a good comparison. CJR has consistently had this team competing for titles down to the very last meet. She's more like Marv Levy.....or maybe Mary Wise. The comparison to CMW would fit if he made a few Final Fours but lost.

Pretty sure he/she is referring to Mary, not Mike.

If this continues with Jenny, I would agree with his/her comparison to Mary. Jenny has had so much talent since she's been here but still has a goose egg.

Next year, barring injuries, should be the year.

It took Faehn 10 yrs and Rowland is now in her 10th season. I guess we wait another year. I'm not saying get rid of her. She has recruited elite gymnasts. Just pointing out it is feels like volleyball. Getting close with a couple of runner-up finishes. But then slowly begin to fall behind other conference foes. And unfortunately now, one of them is the clear measuring stick and another just won a title.

Your comment doesn't agree with the facts. UF has been the 2nd best team in the nation over the last 5 years. While not winning the last meet which is the biggest goal, until this season UF had won 6 consecutive SEC Regular Season Championships plus several SEC Tournament Championships. Any other program not named Oklahoma would love to have Jenny Rowland's record. Other than T&F and swimming, I'm not sure there is a coach in another sport with UF that has had this consistent success, certainly not Mary Wise.

Can't say how glad it makes me feel by not participating during meets. All of those who don't participate regularly or read the thread to make themselves more knowledgeable show up to complain. Crystal balls are worthless.

Oklahoma finished 6th in 2024. Put that is you pipe and smoke on it. I don't think OU will win it all in 2025 either. If injuries have buried UF's chances, my money is on LSU again.

All I'm going to say about at OU is I enjoyed the meet barring the injuries and beam, the injuries the worst part.

Hopefully, we'll know for certain if Sloane and Anya have been lost for the season before Missouri comes to UF next week.

In the past, other posters have expressed the following viewpoint. With varying degrees of blowback. But, hard head that I am, I'll take a swing.

The current Gator Gymnastics roster has seven home grown GR, SR, and JR gymnasts. So, for this point, no Selena Harris-Miranda. Though it's a real bonus that she transferred in. But, back to the point. Of those seven, three (Brubach, Edwards, McCusker) have never been factors, and two (Lazzari, Nguyen) have effectively regressed. And this isn't an anomaly. Do the names Clark, Magee, and Richards sound familiar? How about Clapper, Johnson-Scharpf, and Taylor? You need leadership from your upper classes to get to the top of the mountain. Where are the current editions of Cheney, Gowey, Hundley, and Slocum? The not super stars that you can pencil in a solid score for before they hit the floor.

Last night, OU didn't count anything below a 9.825 score. Compared to four counted by the Gators. That is never a winning formula.

And, to preemptively address the refrain we see posted year in and year out, every team has injuries. You can't coach resolve, you can't instill toughness, but in sports, as in life, you sure do need them to succeed. If those traits are somewhere in the current squad, they really could use them now.

    Go Gators!

And Coach Wise won something like 25 SEC titles!

Thanks! I really need to get Mike White out of my head. I agree that’s a much better comparison.
