We all wanted to wake up from that nightmare. I always felt Muschump did not want a great offense, wanted the D to be the character of his team. Doesn't seem to make sense but we remember his recruiting focus was not on offense. Recalling how he failed miserably to recruit OL and that Butters did not have enough OL to field the Spring scrimmage. Then McElshwark had to reach to find bodies.
Note - message boards no longer for messaging - got it. There will be no noise making or merriment of any sort
New SDS article......long read........ As DJ Lagway enters Year 2 at Florida, can Billy Napier the 'OC' cash in on championship potential?
You’re not being silenced. You’re free to post your questions and criticisms, but I’m free to question and criticize you too.
Not at all surprising that opposing DC and D find our passing attack easy to defend. It requires an elite qb to complete passes in tight windows with the type of passing scheme BN runs. We have Lag for two years hopefully we won't squander those years.
CBN will still call the plays. Texas Longhorns have an offensive coordinator and Sarkisian calls the plays. Same has been said for Kiffin at Ole Miss. Three pressing questions for Florida Football after Russ Callaway’s OC promotion
I love Billy's evals, his skill as a recruiter, his personal integrity, and the culture of Gator Brotherhood and full commitment he's re-instilled in the program. Seeing the team come together after the pasting they took at the beginning of the '24 season was like receiving unexpected money from home. And I still wish him a level of success that amounts to a resounding last laugh at all who doubted him - starting with me. But my misgivings about his play calling, particularly in the RZ, will remain unassuaged unless/until he takes concrete steps to dispel them. Time will tell, but I'm in show me mode pending further, more positive developments.
The goalposts have always been wins and losses and championships. Always. Napier is nowhere near them.
