according to precedent Biden fired all the Trump appointees once he w in office and it was upheld in a court of law thereby establishing the precedent that now allows Trump to now fire Biden appointees

According to your own link, it was not the Kennedy Center, it was not all of any board, it was not the executive directors of any board, and Biden did not take any position on any of the boards. You are just failing here so stop digging. LOL BTW kudos to Biden for removing the "alternative facts" people on those boards as well.

It did not in any way pertain to all appointed members of the admin. so you are finally correct in that I do not accept crap information because someone on a message board makes false claims. Your own link states you are wrong. I can't help you if you can't understand the very things you quote.

Actually Biden didn't remove Trump appointees to the Kennedy Center Board. He did remove last minute Trump appointees to the National Capital Planning Commission and the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts. There is a difference.

This information does not exist as it does not corroborate with the new Pub narrative. LOL

There is a history of authoritarians attacking the arts.

“Art creates pathways for subversion, for political understanding and solidarity among coalition builders. Art teaches us that lives other than our own have value.

Authoritarian leaders throughout history have intuited this fact and have acted accordingly.

The Stalinist government of the 1930s required art to meet strict criteria of style and content to ensure that it exclusively served the purposes of state leadership.

The other featured what Hitler and his followers referred to as “degenerate art”: work that was modern or abstract, and art produced by people disavowed by Nazis — Jewish people, Communists, or those suspected of being one or the other. The “degenerate art” was presented in chaos and disarray, accompanied by derogatory labels, “

Just curious how many of the complainers on here go to the Kennedy Center? Would be interested in understanding how this change will impact you.

Haven't been to Kennedy since Jan, 2020. but I've a friend that works there. Going to DC in April but saw Shear Madness ( heard reviews were good at Kennedy) while it was still going in Boston. Taking Acela from DC up to a couple of Broadway shows though. This is another senseless power grab by wannbe King. Doesn't impact me personally just as I'm not an researcher whose NIH grant has been killed, nor a Haitian immigrant whose TPS status just got revoked and must return to a very dangerous Haiti. I do not have to be personally connected to have concerns for others.

Not an emperor, no. Those are based on bloodlines. Closer to a dictator. True, the Kennedy Center's Board of Directors is appointed by the president. What's new is that Trump's Board then turned around and nominated him Chairman of the Board, which has never been done before. It speaks to his obsession with control.

Logic fail. This impacts many who have nothing to do with the Too Hot. Some of us, though, care deeply about the arts. Your guy does not. He's an arts idiot. Side note: I've performed at the Kennedy Center, as have numerous friends. There's no place for political monopoly or authoritarianism there. Are you into that sorta thing?

I’ve been to a couple shows but it’s a hassle to get to. I have season tickets to the hippodrome at Baltimore and will occasionally take the train up to broadway although slum it and don’t pay extra for the Acela.

Gonna be an "actually" guy here ... Holy Roman Emperors were eventually "elected" by a loose confederation of princes and succession was not hereditary. :)
