Yeah, it was ironic how much Dykes praised Urban's defense. And here we all thought that was his weakness :)

Finally got to see this team in person last night and took my niece (3rd year undergrad) to her first basketball game (she is much more entrenched in football). Niece has been jealous of her dad (Spurrier era) and me (Urban and Billy era) and how Florida won championships during our time in undergrad.

Hopefully she got to witness a championship team in person last night. This is a very good team, and last night couldn't have been better way to introduce her to hoops. 3 after 3 after 3 after 3

Great crowd, only one small section in the upper corner was empty. Mostly filled otherwise for a mid-week game.

back then saying we're a good team was a statement, now it seems a vast understatement. I don't want to change the title yet - until we win it all.

Dykes also commented how strong he was built, I think he said like a pit Bull, LOL. He doesn’t let people bulrush him over.

Best part was Red Panda at half time....we were saying "look 4 bowls is REALLY good, let's just end it at that" but she kept pushing for 5...and GOT IT!"

I was telling my niece about all the halftime shows we had in undergrad INCLUDING red panda, and as manifested there she was!

Hope she starts attending next year and gets to see stickman

Urban had one time in the second half where he bit on a fake and got crossed over, I think. Dude was past Urban's hip, uncontested to goal, before he started moving.

I watched his face afterwards. It seemed like he thought: "Freak thing, won't happen again."

I also think Haugh's improvement on defense should be noted as well!

Haugh has been a beast on both ends of the floor. He has taken his game to another level. He's a legit NBA talent, hope we can keep both Haugh and Condo for next year. As best friends, I wonder if both stay or both go - a little like the 04s with Green

You're original post was accurate, of course, but I doubt any of us thought we were THIS good!!

I think there both staying next year without a doubt because both need to work on there low post moves and condon on his 3 point shooting which is all the nba now

Who would have thought we would be worried about Condon and Haugh leaving for the nba after their sophomore years when they signed?!? Golden has done an exceptional job identifying talent.

We are the only team to beat Auburn on their court. Our three bigs, Condon, Rueben and Haugh, flat wore down Johnni Broom. Their energy and ability to run to create transition buckets/offense, got us the win. I said before the year started, we would be a tough out for any team we face. What has to e been a surprise, is Haugh is all round a much better player, Condo has gotten stronger but his offense hasn’t matched his defense intensity, rebounding. Rueben, has totally kept getting better around the basket with his put backs and even hitting free throws, while controlling the defense of the hoop on everyone he plays against.
If these three stay one more year, the sky is the limit! Here’s looking for a deep NCAA deep tournament run. Take a big Bite Gators!

Exactly. I've been tempted to change the title but I'm too superstitious. Calling us good is good enough for now, even while we're playing at an elite level. Can't let our foot off the gas. Imagine when we get Condo back now with Handy in the rotation. We might be the deepest team top to bottom in the country - and virtually every one of our players was a 3-star recruit! What an incredible job TG has done

We might have 2 of the biggest wins of the year. Beating Auburn pretty handily on their court AND beating Tenn by 30.
This team carries itself like professionals. It's conceivable that all 10 of our rotational players could be playing pro somewhere in the next 2-3 years

The NBA is very much about 3pt attempts (as is the college game now) but it's a lot more than that. Players need to have a very well rounded skillset; dribbling, shooting, rebounding, defending etc - skills that he already possesses but just not at a high enough level yet. Agree another year will do both he and Haugh some good, then can go pro after their junior years. Though if we make the Final Four or even win the NC and they both play really well on the highest stage, it might be difficult to keep them around.

The Gators are now guaranteed single-digit losses. First time we've seen that since the Cheeze buzzer beater team that made the Elite 8.
