So it’s a “confidential plan,” but we have it here on Too Hot?

Deep breaths, everyone. No deal at all is going to come out of this meeting. Again, the two sides are too far apart on the essentials, the U.S. is not in a position to pressure Ukraine into taking a pro-Russian deal, and Russia is increasingly the more vulnerable party. Let them talk. Let Russia be the one to stomp away from the negotiations. And let’s crank up the military and economic pressure over the next year.

I’m becoming increasingly convinced that some of you are copy-pasting your dreams as opposed to objective sources.

Europeans are outraged and astonished that they are being cut out of negotiations because they actually believe the war is between Russia and Ukraine.

Yes, the Telegraph says they got it from an Ukrainian official. They're probably pretty ticked about this proposal and leaked it to the world to show how ridiculous it is.

What do you mean we aren't in a position to pressure Ukraine? We're bankrolling their whole country. Even if we just pull the rug they won't last long against Russia, but let's not forget our ability to supplant foreign leaders with more pliant ones as well.

    Ukraine upping their recruiting game

Over 10,000 applications to join military submitted by young recruits following introduction of 'special contracts,' Defense Ministry says

Ukraine's military has received over 10,000 applications from volunteer recruits aged 18 to 24 following the introduction of lucrative "special contracts," Defense Ministry Spokesperson Dmytro Lazutkin said on Ukrainian TV on Feb. 17.

The contracts, aimed at recruiting additional military personnel who are not subject to mobilization, provide a number of benefits, including a Hr 1 million ($24,000) annual salary, 0% interest mortgage rates, and free higher education.

Ukraine's Defense Ministry also said those who complete one year of service would be allowed to travel abroad. Currently, with a few exemptions, all men aged 18-60 are prohibited from travelling overseas while martial law is in place.

U.S. lawmakers and NATO allies have continuously urged Ukraine to lower its draft age from 25 to 18 to address manpower shortages. Currently, Ukrainian men aged 25 to 60 are subject to conscription.

The people in Ukraine don’t have a say. The majority of them want the war to end but chickenhawks (and you know who are) want them to keep dying.

Yeah, I'm not sure how that helps get a peace deal done when almost all the Ukrainian political parties agree that a long term cease fire or peace agreement have to be reached before elections can be held. It gets into a chicken vs the egg situation.

Typical of Trump since he will typically go with the last thing anyone told him. I remember at the Gun Summit back in his first term he told DiFi he was onboard with bringing back the assault weapons ban during the meeting and Republican Senators and his staff had to walk that comment back the day after.

He has repeated the Russian talking points and expressed agreement with them. How about fair elections in Russia?

How any American could not see this as plain as day from 2015 until now is beyond me.

There is only one logical explanation anyone could make and it is Trump continues to be Putin's bitch.

All the dead Ukrainian soldiers, raped women, bombed hospitals, executed prisoners and destroyed cities and villages and we have Elon and Trump's hands in the Kremlin's pocket.

    Disgusting, vile, sub-human behavior.

Someone needs to invoke the 25th Amendment yesterday.
