I am not an expert, but from the images it looks like a commuter jet. The writing "Delta Connection" is visible on the upside down fuselage. Just saw an interview with a passenger, he said it hit really hard and they bounced. Then there was a fireball on the side of the ball and they tumbled over. Glad there were no fatalaties.
I didnt see the footage from the US based Delta flight. Apparently Pete Buttigieg was keeping these planes in the air himself. What a disastrous 3 weeks of air safety by the US.

I've watched the video of the plane crash several times now. It looks like it landed hard and the landing gear on the right side snapped or collasped..
Interview with pilots will be interesting, but there is some suggestion that there were wind shear worries at the air field at the time of the landing/impact.
That's what it looked like to me as well. It was either the pilot misjudged how high he was or there was a downburst of wind or something. The runway was white with snow so it may have been hard to see how close the ground was.
A commercial pilot sent me the video and his initial take was that while it hit hard it didn’t look like the plane hit harder than the design limit for the landing gear. But that was just a guess based on his experience. He was also surprised to see the wing shear off so easily. I’m with most of you that it looks like the pilot didn’t do a typical landing flare. I don’t know if that was a depth perception issue due to snow, I’m looking at the flight path incorrectly, or something else.
US maintenance error or US pilot error is what it's looking like. I hope the Sec of Trans had fun at the boondoggle at the Daytona 500. Im sure it helped keep Americans safe.
