Many Dems here like to point to the Covid induced crash in the economy under Trump.
While they may not blame him specifically for Covid they sure like blaming for the cratering economy in early 2020.

That must assume no retaliatory tariffs to make sense. Good luck with that.

Not sure I agree. But maybe it's that after years of seeing him take credit for anything positive, whether he actually had anything to do with it, it was interesting to see him ...... literally..... state that he took no responsibility for anything related to Covid?

Or maybe it was because his response to Covid was nothing but a series of outright lies, and was in fact probably the most egregious dereliction of presidential duty in US history?

Funny thing is that before kudlow was a trumpster, he was on CNBC every day praising free markets and ranting against tariffs and price controls as damaging to the economy. My how things have changed. Situational economics I guess.

Why did Canada NOT get the bird flu? We had to destroy 100,000,000 chickens and somehow NO other country near us got that same bird flu?

I smell fraud in the system. I also think it strange how all these viruses simply disappear and reappear ONLY in the winter. I think it might even be purposely released into the population... that's my conspiracy theory of the day.

    That has to be investigated.

Autism in American children is on deck next.

He also used to be a democrat. So I guess that’s how an “economist” does a 180 on tariffs. Kudlow is a political hack, not an economist.

He has a history degree and worked as a “junior economist” before moving into politics. His work in politics he then leveraged into a supposed job as “chief economist” at Bear Stearns. The same Bear Stearns that would help spark the global financial crisis. So I guess that didn’t speak well of their hiring practices, that their “chief economist” wasn’t in fact an economist at all - just a guy in politics who could talk a good game. Might as well have hired a car salesman in retrospect. Comically, he predicted the “Bush Boom” to continue indefinitely in Dec 2007, totally blind to the crisis beginning to unfold just a month later.

He apparently leveraged that “being wrong all the time” into a lifetime of TV appearances and hanging out with politicians. But he has no apparent expertise, so it’s not clear why anyone would’ve ever listened to him then or now. Must’ve been a good drinking buddy or the cocaine doing the talking.

Given inflation is a rolling year over year report, that one time bump would drive elevated levels for at least a year.

I'm sure he'll get right on eggs and gas prices as soon as he has Gaza sorted out. And Ukraine, of course.
Maybe his tweet was just a typo. Instead of saying "On day one, I'll slash prices," he meant to say "one day, I'll slash prices." :emoji_thinking:[/QUOTE]When I read his tweet the 1st time, I also thought it said "One day..." Of course he's still blaming Biden for the prices increasing. Last night, I purchased the same things that I always get at the grocery store. And the total went from $90 to $103. And that's without eggs.

Yeah, Canada has 14.5 million birds affected by bird flu as well.

Also, you don't understand how there is a flu season? Seriously?

Trump is the biggest liar. He always has been. I've been living in New York City for over 25 years and up here we all know how corrupt Trump is, and know how he's a terrible businessman, how he's screwed over so many people, never pays his lawyers or contractors, bankrupt 3 casinos-you have to really screw up badly to need to bankrupt a casino, He nearly bankrupt Atlantic City...this is why New Yorkers don't trust him and did not vote for him. But his whole plan all along was Project 2025 and Plan F. He did say he would be a dictator on Day 1. They had been hatching out a plan since January, 2021, to fire on all cylinders on Jan 21, and he is doing exactly what he said he'd do, not out loud but the guys from the Heritage Club, Trump's loyalists and on-line media had been talking about this for three years. And I have been warning people-half of my family are MAGA from the Florida panhandle (and huge fsu fans)-but of course they wouldn't listen to the educated "New York liberal."

I paid a little more than I paid for more previous purchase ($8.99 compared with $7.99) for the Eggland's Best for 24 eggs, still considerably less than the Giant store brand ($8.29 a dozen).

Would be hilarious (in a not funny way) if Trump shuts down the BLS and stops testing inflation.
