A team from Elon Musk’s SpaceX is visiting the Air Traffic Control Command Center in Virginia Monday to help overhaul the system in the wake of last month’s deadly air disaster in Washington, DC, US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy announced. The news comes after CNN reported that the Federal Aviation Administration fired hundreds of probationary employees who maintain critical air traffic control infrastructure.

The exact number of workers losing their jobs is unknown, but the union representing them said it was in the “hundreds.” The Trump administration is in the process of trying to eliminate thousands of federal employees as it works with Congressional Republicans on a massive tax cutting bill that is said to favor mostly corporations and the wealthy.

Space X has a terrible track record for things blowing up and what they do is completely different. What could go wrong?

Are there any government systems or agencies that should be looked at for improvement or is everything perfect now that Trump wants to look under the covers?

Probably aren't any that should be looked at by dishonest, lying, unelected bought-a-role-in-government Elon Musk.

Maybe he could do electric cars.....

But oh wait, let's do your 'all or nothing, binary' thing in my post too : since Elon Musk should do electric cars, he's therefore qualified to do eeeevvvverything in government!

Did I do it right? Did it seem as silly when I did it as when you did?

Ok, so the whole issue is who is doing the investigations?

Well I think it essentially was done by virtue of the election results

That is a pretty big issue. Improvements are generally slow, boring, incremental processes run by people with specific expertise to improve processes. Bringing randos in off the street because their boss paid Trump a bunch of money that likely don't even have basic background on the thing that they are trying to improve seems less like "improvement" and more like "how can my boss be the main character for another week?"

The number one reason that people voted for Trump was because of inflation. At this point we all know that he lied about bringing prices down on day one.

Only a fool would expect a corrupt businessman to in good faith look for corruption within the government

An unelected, un appointed and has ZERO oversite civilian is remaking the government in his (fascist lionizing) image??? YES....that is EXACTLY the problem.

    That's certainly a start.

But yes, lying scumbags doing investigations of, well, every single thing, whether they're qualified or not, is ..... an issue.

Space X learns through its mistakes. Learning through mistakes in the ATC system could cost hundreds of lives.

Oh, and again, yes; this vile individual should have absolutely nothing to do with any public actions or decision-making that affects anyone's lives. Or anything whatsoever.

It's actually shocking that anyone in our country would tolerate that, but, well.... you do, among other people. But then just look at the other stuff that you've let yourselves accept for our country.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk said he believes the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is a “criminal organization” that should “die.”

“USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die,” Musk posted to the social platform X, which he owns.

No. But a non-political reputable audit team should perform it. Not a blatant move by trump/musk to destroy significant portions of our gov based on their personal politics and financial interests. And justify it with nebulous terms like “we’re cutting government fraud” without proof other than a cryptic x post.

but more importantly, is there anything Trump will do that maga won’t blindly follow? Now, after trump talked to putin he all of a sudden wants to lessen our military. And not a peep from maga.

Is there a way to have a non-political audit that isn’t just the creation of documents that get put on a shelf? Everything is political. That’s how the government works.

Oh, yes. Thank you, Trump/Musk shill.

It is quite normal to grant an unelected non-citizen illegal access to all levels of government simply because that person donated $288 million to a criminal's presidential campaign.

You see, this is not unacceptable at all. Because "everything is political. "

    That's how the government works!

don’t bother. You cannot reason a person out of an argument they didn’t use reason to conclude in the first place.

There was a way to have a serious audit, a prime example being Clinton's Reinventing Government Initiative. As I pointed out in the thread in which a certain low-information Trumper through a link to a tweet tried to compare what Trump and Musk are doing with what Clinton did in 1993, before cutting and/or transferring some governmental functions to the private sector the Clinton Administration conducted a detailed review of every agency over a 5-month period, issued a report and then forwarded the recommendations to Congress. Rather than utilizing a serious in-depth review within days of taking office Trump under the direction of co-President Musk began cutting with a meataxe. Musk tried to rationalize the cuts by citing tweets, other posts on social media, partial facts and in some cases complete fabrications.
