Last in SEC in passing yards allowed last year with Arky and 111th in national in second year with program.
That'd kind of what happens when you battle Vandy for last place in recruiting every year, your headline players are rb and ol, and you play passing attacks like aTm, UTa, UTk, Ole Miss, and Mizz.
Now look at his 1st year with the Hogs. "In his first season in 2023, Arkansas ranked fourth in the SEC in passing yards allowed per game with 202.8." Report: Arkansas assistant coach Deron Wilson to be named Georgia State defensive coordinator | Whole Hog Sports
We have a loaded secondary. As long as this guy isn’t a train wreck, we will be fine. My question is- can he recruit?
Weird if Ark ranked 4th in SEC, if true, but was 111th(110th on NCAA site) pass yard allowed. However, UF was 83rd allowing 225ish with better DBs so what's an extra 20 yards at Arky vs UF? Point being, he could do much better with our group and 20 ypg meant 30 spots better in the ranking but it's not that much different. I imagine our stat was better second half of season vs first half. Remember the miami game- we were being torched. That type of poor performance factors in to our total, but we were much better than that by end of season. He has more to work with at UF and we hope our staff learned to KISS. 110 Arkansas 13 259 418 3210 22 7.68 12.39 246.9 83 Florida 13 244 421 2957 18 7.02 12.12 227.5
A defensive line can make a secondary look much better than they are or much worst than they are. Our front 7 was much better than Arkansas, so it is hard to compare secondaries, but his interview played on Hightop Sports was outstanding and he supposed to be a great recruiter.
