All the Democrats have to do is sit back and watch Trump hand the House and Senate back to them.

Yeah you're probably right. My scorecard for 2026 is to vote dem since pubs are in power. I always vote to maintain balance because everytime both parties have total control shit hits the fan.

The Dems need to find some candidates though that aren't total dipshits. I think the young are going to be very put off by age by 2026/28 after Biden and Trump. Shumer needs to retire or step down as leader. They need youth that don't sound like radicals, so far I haven't seen any.

Just to expound on my original thought. The big Dem donors are not happy with the people they put into office, and the Dems are seeing a drop in fundraising.

You're absolutely correct. My opinion may differ in that I consider most of Trump's "plans" or "policies" to simply be outright lies for his masses, which he won't end up doing.

Of course, he throws some senseless and legitimately destructive stuff in there as rage-bait, but the bulk of his doings is just grifting, deficit spending and tax cuts that IMO will take longer to hit.

I guess we'll see. I'm very open to other viewpoints, but IMO my opinions are super awesome. (is that a tautology, Beavis?) Most of the right-wing posters here agree. :)

That will change if Trump cuts their government programs.

I'm not sure the Dems should worry about most of the cuts to foreign nations that serve to prop up questionable intentions.

All the Democrats have ever done is nothing but wait for the Republicans to falter, and that's why we are here

Exactly. That's what we all should do. I just don't get partisanship outside of this primitive need for tribes and teams. Really? You're going to pledge fealty to politicians and political organizations? Seems so simple minded when the reality is they should be on their knees every 2-4 years begging us for their votes and our votes should be up for grabs.

So, to me, Haley was perfect for this moment. Nation wants and probably needs a shift to the right, and a pretty sizable one, and she would have delivered that in spades, probably with Reagan '84 numbers. And not only am I angry at MAGA, I grow angrier every day as they hack away at the nation's hamstrings and put us even that farther behind the ball.

Yeah, let's push away our allies while embracing people (Putin and Xi) who's greatest dream is to see our entire country come apart at the seams. And, sorry to break this to you MAGA, but the only way you make "friends" with Putin is to travel two decades back in time. It's baked in now. He hates us, will never trust us and is just working MAGA for what he can get. And it's working great!

It's probably just Wall Street making the shift now that MAGA won. As expected, they'll be playing both sides again in 2026.

    Yeah, but "woke" Europe. . . .

You're trying too hard. It all begins and ends there.

Democrats do have a huge messaging problem, and they need to walk away from things like trans rights, and Palestinian support as major issues. What they need to do is rethink everything and learn how to fight dirty. Trump is a machine that turns out one Democratic talking point after another, but rather jumping on it they say nothing. My point is that Trump is daily giving them a huge opportunity if they’re willing to take it, but I still believe republicans will crash and burn on their own unless Democrats allow the Justice Democrats like Jayapal in front of the microphones.

Who are you even talking about? I've never seen the Democrats make any of those things part of their messaging or promote them as major issues. Maybe that is part of the problem, even liberals believe Republicans messaging about the Democrats lol.

He must not have seen the video of all the Trumpsters melting down because their own handouts are on the chopping block and “But I didn’t vote for this”

You have it backwards. Since 2016, what used to be the Republican Party has become a wing of the United Russia party, let by daddy Vlad.

Consequently, you really do not need a group monitoring cyber activity and looking to spread propaganda and use backdoor hacks. Russia now has the front door key to most of our most sensitive systems and data from President Musk and his Meat Puppet.

Perhaps the mid terms won't matter. These people won't cede power. They'll just tighten their grip while half the country cheers them on. All part of the plan. No checks, no balances, just power.
