Baseball Around the SEC - Week 1 (2/14 - 2/19/25)

So—looking at the Watch ESPN/ESPN+, and the SECN+ schedule for this coming weekend I’m not seeing our games vs AF listed. Anybody else having the same issue?

 

6:30 pm Air Force vs. #10 Florida

its there now,, but they also have numerous wrong times listed(AU included)

 

This tourney will be on Flosports(sub required) Pretty good matchups, starting w/ Ok St - Clemson at noon Firiday

REPORT: Gators Weekend Rotation for Air Force Series Announced

 

I have season tickets to both baseball and basketball. Saturday will be a long day of Gator sports.

It used to be easier when we played at Perry Field.

 

Starting 2 guys w/combined 6.5 ERA last year(Dutton at LSU) and a True Fr.. Buckle up..lol

 

Watching Arky vs WState. 0-0 thru 3 innings. Arky’s Earl (RHP/Gaeckle) is sitting 95 with his FB-also shown curve, slider, and chg.
Both teams defensively sound so far. Both teams seem to be trying to hit it where it’s pitched.

 

McEntire back again for Hogs..geez.

Ok St 5 - Clemson 6 8th * Bakich serving his 2 game susp from Supers last year.

I see my jinxing in mid season form.. I mention McEntire, gives up bomb.. WSU 1 Ark 0 6

 

Ville scored 2 in 9th to tie, and 2 in 10th to walk it off. 4-3

Holy Crap... Starting season in a offensive slump.. better now than later I guess. 1 hit in 2 games from 2 -3-4 hitters. Irish is 0/season. They need hitting lessons from 10-0 softball team..

Ill give HC credit. they have pitched/played D well. very few free bases allowed. AU was 1/15 RISP lastnight. A lot of well hit balls, but in the air, which just die at night this time of year in that park.

Anyone recall what Fisher toped out at v-lo wise last year? He didnt throw a pitch over 86mph Fri night.. I know AU uses more realistic/accurate guns than most(3-5 mph difference), but HC pitchers have all been 90+ so its not that..lol

 

@74nole - What did you think about our pitching this weekend. The locations looked awesome.

 

The single obvious statement made to me was clearly command. To have so few walks coming out of the gate was outstanding. That alone highlighted so much positive potential at least in my eyes.

I was also pleased with our pitchers fielding on their available opportunities.

I will close out with for the most part the curves and sliders were impressively tight. I only saw a couple or three breaking pitches get away that were a little loopy. I was very impressed with our pitchers.

 

WE seemed very aggressive with base-stealing.
