I’m guessing the folks complaining about the work by DOGE either: a) have never performed or been subjected to a substantive due-diligence process and/or post-transaction “clawback” audit, investigation or b) have been part of one or the other and have something(s) to hide from DOGE and are culpable for waste or fraud.
Even if DOGE makes a few misjudgments…. and they will ….. I believe it is still extremely necessary and likely the best thing to occur to the federal government in a long time.
Another "mistake" by DOGE. Apparently Musk and the boys didn't realize the scope and impact of the cuts to USAID, not actually that surprising since they were only interested in cutting numbers and didn't even bother to consider the impact of their cuts. Republicans push to resurrect 'Food for Peace' amidst efforts to dismantle USAID It seems that Elon and his coders didn't realize that over $1.8 billion is spent on the purchase of agricultural products for USAID programs from US farmers.
What's crazy is that very obviously; for farmers affected in red states, Trump and Elmo will just give them subsidies for any lost revenue. It's not like we haven't seen this crappy, criminal show before. What government savings then, one might ask? Oh, who really cares - they got their sound bite. Some fake savings. The cult is satisfied.

Now show us the list of money saved from those that are supposed to manage our nuclear weapons then show us how much money we're saving by impacting fentanyl studies. Finally, show us which corporation will benefit the most since the ultimate goal is to figure out how to pay for even bigger corporate tax cuts so that companies can buy back their stocks
Interestingly, it is nearly $2 billion that has been misplaced not misspent. Seems more of a massive case of incompetent accounting rather than waste. While neither is acceptable there is a difference.

Update again: they changed the website on Friday to say "Receipts coming over the weekend." It still says that.
