Green energy is a failed venture at this time. Europe knows that and that is why Russia was supplying much of their energy. Get out of fairy tale land. No comment on their immigration policies/surging crime, or how wealthy entrepreneurs are fleeing the UK for America?

Note the UK is basically a failed western conservative state. 14 years of conservative rule basically ruined the country. Which is why they were finally demolished in the last election. No one is holding up the UK as a model for conservative rule for a reason.

Did you know that Sweden has no minimum wage and taxes their citizens at a higher rate than corporations? Sweden has struck a good balance. They are a world leader in green energy and have a strong healthcare system and robust social support structures.
That's up for argument as many economists have warned that their social programs are catching up with them fiscally. Regardless, you ignored my jab at Bernie and the FACT that Sweden runs one of the most pro capitalist economic systems in the world. Also, Sweden's fairly recent immigration policy ... Can you imagine the cries of racism if Trump tried to implement the exact same policy? Actually, businesses do care about their reputation. Do you know of any business that don't care about their reputation? Virtually all businesses care about having good relations with their suppliers and customers, and certainly avoid the appearance of taking advantage of either one. The bottom line (profit) is important also, to have enough cash to make it to next week, month, or year. But without a good reputation, most companies won't last long.
How do you know that Trump will get the mess cleaned up? What if he makes a bigger mess? What if he doesn't know what he's doing? You do know that he's been a failure his entire life, don't you? You do know he's been a con-man for most of his life, don't you? You know that his personal financial success was due to a combination of inheriting a large sum from his father, cheating on his taxes, stiffing suppliers, manipulating banks, and robbing his companies as they went bankrupt, don't you? You might think that his personal life would make up for some of the incompetence in the business arena, but then you would have to explain the rapes, the ogling of semi-dressed teenage girls at beauty pageants, and the close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, etc. So what about his character and capabilities to you suggests a George Washington or an Abraham Lincoln? I know its hard to admit that you've been conned, but the sooner you open your eyes to this truth, the better off you'll be. Trump is not a good human being, and he is not a good president.
Or you could explain to the board why Europe still relies heavily on fossil fuels and France is energy independent due to using mostly nuclear power ...

capitalism works when regulated. The free market eats itself and doesn’t actually care about people when unregulated. It requires government collaboration and regulation. Immigration is important for most western countries. Taking a measured approach is hardly a bad thing, especially when you’re a small country.
Why would I explain stuff that isn't true? EU’s use of fossil fuels for electricity falls 17% to ‘record low’ in first half of 2023 - Carbon Brief Latest data shows solar and wind up, nuclear down (driven heavily by outages in French nuclear plants), and fossil fuel usage is way down.
Regulated? Sweden has no government implemented minimum wage and gives huge tax breaks to employers. That's the opposite of government regulation. You're still not telling us your feelings on Sweden's immigration policies. Just broadbrushong my question. I'd also like to know what you think the MSM's portrayal of Trump would be if he drafted the same immigration policies here in the U.S.
But what I said is true. Nuclear is still the main driver of France's energy independence and Europe as a whole still depends mostly on fossil fuels. Won't change anytime soon either.
Big jump since the Russian pipeline debacle. Not a coincidence either. It's unsustainable/unaffordable, though, and I'd love to revisit the percentages 5-10 years from now.
And yet green energy IS the future. There is no denying that oil and gas supplies worldwide are limited, and some countries are running out. So Europe is investing its money on preparing for the future. I don't see anything wrong with that. Somebody should be ready for the future, even if we are too stupid as a nation to worry about it. You want to talk about crime? Try to think about what the crime levels in the U.S. will be when the oil wells run dry, and when the gas doesn't come out of the ground anymore? One of the things that separates a smart man from a dunce is knowing when you hit a triple, and when you were born on third base. (When it comes to oil and gas, the U.S. was born on third base--we were lucky to have large amounts of it in our country.) Europe does not have the long history with immigration that we do, so they are struggling to incorporate their immigrants into their societies. It won't happen overnight. It has taken the U.S. over 150 years to assimilate black people (once they were freed) into American society, and the job is not done yet. Wealthy people have always been fleeing Europe for the U.S.--we have lower tax rates. No surprise there. Just look at all the British celebs living in New York: Mick Jagger moved there, John Lennon lived and died there, etc.
Huh? Jump in what? Renewables have been adding huge capacity around the world because they are cheaper than new fossil fuel capacity. Recently, the pace has increased as they are now cheaper even when combined with battery storage than new fossil fuel plants.
